You walk through the doorway.

That same green patch of grass that he first appeared on greets you. You shut your eyes tight, proceeding to the next doorway.

A bright, blinding, light fills your surroundings.

It's cold.

Even though you're wearing a thick sweater and fur boots, it's still cold.

Well, now that you think about it, you're wearing star pajamas for bottoms and those don't really protect you from the cold.

Nonetheless, it's freezing and no one is happy about this.

You start walking forward on the snowy path, spotting a peculiar patch of whiter "snow" on the ground every once in a while. Oh, wait, that's not snow. You chuckle. Why? You don't know.

You hear faint music in the distance, but it's blocked out mostly by this weird humming that echoes throughout the dense forest before you.

Dead trees seem to almost stare into your soul at the height they stand, adding to the haunting atmosphere.

You wanna go home now.

Wherever that is.

And not "Home" in the Ruins, no. You don't even think it deserves to be called a "home". Besides, you'd never wanna go back there after...

after... You think sorrowfully to yourself.

Losing a friend, your only friend, was one thing, but now that you're alone? You're terrified.

You're cold and you're terrified.

You wanna give up.

Yet somewhere deep inside you, you feel this burning will to not give up.

And you trust in whatever that feeling is, even if you don't have a reason. You just know, you know?

Along the path, you almost trip over a giant branch. You step over it cautiously, continuing the walking and the pondering soon after.

In the distance sits a bridge with gates so wide an elephant could pass through with ease. Now who was the half-wit who made that design choice? You chuckle at the sarcastic remark you just thought of. Gotta get to that bridge.

You look up at the sky. Well it looks like a sky, at least. You're underground, why would a sky exist—what the heck was that? You're broken out of your trance as a loud "snap!" erupts from behind you. You turn around to see no one there, strange.

The giant branch you just passed has now been broken into two pieces, like it was a mere twig. You hear footsteps, crunching with every step on the snow.

You break into a sprint, running towards the bridge and heart beating faster.

A few sharp objects rise up from the ground, following your step, about to impale you. You try to dodge them, and almost fail. Upon closer inspection, the objects are found to be bones.

Then suddenly, a wall of bones rises up mere meters in front of you. You brace for impact, facing your killer and hitting the wall of bones. You collapse. Three more walls form around you, creating a cage.

That's it, I'm gonna die. A possibly crazed skeleton-monster or whatever is gonna kill me. Goodbye, cruel world. Sorry Flowey. I've failed you. You pout, accepting whatever fate you've been given.

You hide your face in your mass of matted hair, you haven't showered for a day and the sweat doesn't help at all, not wanting to see the possibly horrifying monster. But even though your eyes are covered by the hair, you can still make out the white skull and the glowing red eye—glowing red eye?!

Well at least you know you were right about the thing being a skeleton-monster...

"I-If you're gonna kill me.. please make it quick..." You quiver beneath the skeleton.

"what? kill you? hahah... ahahahahaha!" The monster starts laughing hysterically, then immediately stops. You run a hand through your hair, hauling it out of your field of vision to see a red-in-the-face, sweaty—what?, chubby—you know what, you're not even gonna question why, skeleton that has a spikey dog collar tied around it's neck—again, not gonna question it.

"Why were you laughing? And why did you stop?" You ask the peculiar-looking monster.

"that's.. none of your business." It replies.

"but i'm not gonna kill you, that's my bro—BOSS'S.. boss's job..." The skeleton immediately corrects himself. "well technically it's my job too, but i don't give a shit, heh."

"Who are you?" You ask.

"the name's sans. sans the skeleton. who are you?" You stand up and realize you're a very tiny bit taller that this monster. Either that or you're the same height. Or he could be a bit further away than you thought. "(Y/n). Uhh.. (Y/n) the human." You smile awkwardly. "Sans" looks like he just remembered something, and chuckles softly, iris—yes, only one iris, he only has one in the left socket—as small as a pea starts moving rapidly from side to side, as if he was nervous.

Then his gaze fixes onto yours.

It feels like an eternity.

Sans shakes his head, blushing, coming out of the trance, and so do you. You're beginning to assume things now. "so, umm, my boss looks like he's coming.. over there. i think you should hide. behind me." He points to a black and red figure in the distance.

The cage of bones disintegrate like magic, and you hide behind Sans as you were told to.

Sans walks forward across the bridge, and you follow him.

Yeah, you are as tall as him.

"SAAAANS!!!!" A very angered, tall, edgy, skeleton shouts.
