Char lay in her bed scrolling through her phone when she got a text from Zach to come over with no explanation. She scrunched her eyebrows in a little confusion with the blunt text, but Bri was at work and Char had nothing better to do, so she shrugged and got in her car.

When she arrived, Daniel opened the door with a bright smile on his face. "Hey, Char! Is Bri with you?"

She shook her head no. "Bri's working." She continued after Dani's face contorted into confusion. "She's usually off today but her manager called her in last minute."

"Is Michael her manager?" Daniel snorted at his rhetorical question.

"Actually, yes."

"Wait, what?" Dani's head snapped up. He didn't expect her answer. "Elaborate."

Char laughed, heading up the stairs. "Sorry, Dan. Ask your girlfriend about it."

"Char!" Dani called after her, but she was already upstairs.

Chuckling, Char walked into Zach's room and was surprised to see he was not there. She stuck her head back out into the hallway, seeing Jonah. "Jo!" She waved him over.

"Hey, Char. When did you get here?" He gave her a pointed glance towards her when he saw her in Zach's room.

"Just a few minutes ago, actually. But have you seen Zach? He texted me to come over."

Jonah shook his head no, shrugging. "I actually haven't seen him at all today."

Char nodded her head, confused. "Okay then..." After Jonah left, she sat down on his bed and made herself comfortable. 'I guess I'll just wait a little then.'

She found herself scrolling through her phone again, unaware of Zach slowly creeping out of his bathroom towards Char who was faced away from him. He snickered quietly, which was a mistake. Char's head whipped around quicker than Zach could see.

"Zach?"

"Aw, dangit." He pouted. "I tried to scare you."

Char tried covering her face to keep herself from laughing, but it didn't really work. Zach rolled his eyes playfully before jumping on to her, causing them both to collapse back onto his bed in laughter. He started to tickle her sides, causing a little bit of her shirt to ride up. Her laughs increasingly got louder.

Jack passed by Zach's door, hearing loud shrieks. He assumed something was wrong, so he opened the door. "Zach, are you ok- oh, oh god. My eyes!"

Jack had caught them in an awkward position. Zach was on top of Char, with Char's shirt hiked up because of Zach's tickles, giving Jack the wrong impression. Jack immediately shielded his eyes, "I can't look at this, nope."

Char reduced to silent laughter, her mouth still covered by her hand. Jack definitely had the wrong idea. "Guys, if you're gonna do this here and now, please lock the door and be quiet for goodness sakes. You've only dated for like a year though..."

"What? Jack, oh my god no! We're not smashing, Jack!" Zach felt his cheeks redden as he realized what Jack meant. "Bye, Jack. There's the door." He pushed the curly haired boy out hastily. Zach turned back to Char to find her curled up and leaning against his headboard.

He jumped onto his bed, causing it to bounce. Zach then attacked Char with a huge bear hug, which she returned. "Jack's right, though. Our one year is in like a week." Char said into his shoulder.

He chuckled under his breath. "Yeah, I know."

"What do you wanna do now then?" Char asked.

"Actually, absolutely nothing." Zach said, lying down on his bed and pulling Char with him. They lay in each other's arms, perfectly content with the other's company.

Their hearts were intertwined, and that would never change.
