I clearly remember everything that happened that day. And, honestly, I think I will never, in my life, forget. Everything I thought or imagined, it had been too strong, and it had hit pretty hard on my heart touching a part that was already sensitive to me. Before, it was just a small hole, now, because of the shock, it had gotten a little bigger. Never anyone, even a person who has no feelings, who never felt the loss, guilt, intrigue, heartbreak, even such a person like that, shouldn’t be put to the test.

It was an afternoon of rain, as it's already happening since last month, we were in the middle of winter. There are two things that my parents never ever dispense on a day like this. First, a crackling fireplace, snuggle enough to make us forget the icy cold and wind out of the walls and the cosy warm wool blankets, fluffy and huge, that gave two or three turns to one person. Second, stories about the Old Gods.

My father is an Archaeologist and my mother a teacher of History in higher education, other words, history lives around me, the facts and possibilities live in me.

"Louise, it should be you today." My father said to my mother, and offered me a mug of hot chocolate.

"Ok… but almost every story that should be told, have already been told."

"Not every of them sweet." My father sat right next to my mother and gave her one of the mugs he had in hand.

"Can I start?" I asked. "I know that my stories are not as good as yours, and the one that I want to tell you is not exactly a story, I guess it’s kind of a memory that was lost for a while in my mind, and now it came to me." My parents sat more comfortably on the couch they could, and they told me to continue. "It all started a few nights ago. I have been having the same dream for a while now. I went to bed as usual and I fell asleep. I know that I was dreaming, but every night I dream this, it always seems so real. To start, I found myself in a huge room, with characteristics as we can find in your books of the Ancient Greece," I declared, looking at my mother, "I did not realize, or just do not remember if it was actually a bedroom or a living room, but I remember especially the colours, the smells that floated that place.

Then, I saw a woman. She was a highly attractive young woman who was dressed elegantly and, on her neck, ears, arms, wrists and hair, she was full of jewellery. Her eyelashes were so curled, but she was not using any mascara, she had a constant smile on her lovely face. Her hair was always changing, it passed of short to medium length, and then to long hair. The colour of the hair was always changing too. When I looked into her eyes, they had all the colours of the rain-bow. Looking at her was like looking at a God.

Suddenly I heard a cry and so did she. She soon turned to the very beautiful crib which was in the middle of the room, and she took the child lying there. She starts to sing a wonderful song, very calm and peaceful, that I did not understand and the little child was silent. A lady came into the room and said, "Everything is ready." She whispered to not wake the child that was so fragile in her arms. "Put all her things to take, now go, give me just a few more minutes." The beautiful woman started to cry. With the child in her arms, she went to a table that seemed that was made of gold. She pulled out a small necklace from a drawer and, carefully, she putted it in the baby's neck, the necklace was like mine, exactly like mine. She started walking to the door, always crying. My dream ended there or this is just the part that I remember." The faces of my parents transmitted perplexity.

My mom looked at my dad and his voice trembled once he talked. "I think it’s time, Louise." He said.

"What do you mean?" I asked, I was starting to get curious about what they knew and I didn’t.

"Love, we never told you how you got here, in New York..." My mum said.

"No… both of you told me that I was too young to understand, you asked me if I trusted you, obviously I said I trusted, you told me that when the time came, you would tell me, so I never asked again."
