I wake up with my eyes still closed. I groan a little in the back of my throat. I roll my head the other way and breath in deeply. I open my eyes slowly and blink a few times to see sharper, but my sight stays one big blur. Someone appears in my sight, he kneels down next to me and leans on the side of the bed.

'Good morning sunshine,' he says. My head feels like it's filled with cotton wool and I don't have the energy to talk. I don't even remember what actually happened after the weird, failed change of the vampire. I was there, got vampire blood in my mouth, I changed, I had fangs. But then it all went away. I fell down but then... There were two man. Two men talking about something, who were they again? I can't remember.

The man lays a hand down on my forehead, it's nicely cold. I look up a little. 'Sammy!' the man says. I flinch and close my eyes again. Why is he talking so loud? Please don't talk so loud. I hear another pair of footsteps. 'Yes?' someone else asks. 'She's awake,' the man next to me says and he stands up. I open my eyes again, slowly.

'And how is she?' I see the other man shrug a little. 'Not so good I think. She's still very warm and I think sensitive for sounds. She flinched when I called you.' I blink again a few times but this time I can focus better and see sharper. 'So she still has a fever, or just warm?' the far-away man asks. 'It's a bad fever, she's barely with us,' the man next to me answers.

Hey, I'm right here you know! Right here! I look a little around through the room. I recognize it as a cheap motel room. I think the same as I checked in! I lay on a grey bed, against one of the walls stands a table and next to me is another single bed.

'And with the... teeth?' the man who had just came in asks. 'No teeth, I've checked. It's been five hours and still not a single sign,' the man next to me says. He looks at me again and kneels down next to the bed. The man reaches for me, but I flinch again making the man pull his hand back. 'It's okay, no one's going to hurt you. The bad men are dead. You're safe,' the man says. I relax a little. But why don't he just say vampire? It were vampires.

Piece by piece, I can feel my legs and arms again. 'W-who are –' I can't manage to end my sentence and my voice fades away. 'I'm Sam,' the tall one says. 'And you've already met my brother, Dean.' He points at the other man. 'Dean?' I ask. He nods. 'You were attacked by vampires. One of them bleed in your mouth. He was trying to turn you into one of them. But I think something went wrong,' Dean says.

'By the change, you were in a lot of pain. It was horrible, but that wasn't supposed to happen. The change doesn't hurt and if it went as it should, you would have fangs now and no heartbeat. But you don't have fangs and you do have a heartbeat. Now don't get me wrong, that's a good thing but we don't understand how it's possible,' Sam says. Dean sighs slightly. 'What my brother is trying to say is that we need to know what you are,' he says. 'A w-waitress,' I say, not entirely understanding. 'No, that's not what I meant. I mean, what are you?'

'H-human? I don't u-understand what y-you mean,' I stutter. 'Doesn't matter, forget it. We just want to make sure you weren't a monster that was going to eat us,' Sam says. 'But are you OK? Cause a vampire attack, that's not nothing.' I nod slightly and carefully come up. Dean quickly helps me. 'Take it easy,' he says. 'I'm OK, I think,' I say. 'Can we give you a ride home?' Dean asks. I stare to the wall. 'No, I'm – looking for something,' I whisper. I look up to Dean. 'I've followed you advise and went looking.'

'What are you looking for?' Sam asks. 'My dad,' I answer. Sam and Dean look at each other for a moment. 'Really? Why?' Sam asks. 'Well, as I told Dean earlier, I've found out about my dad still being alive. A friend of him came to visit me and wanted to talk with me when a demon interrupted us. He managed to send it back to hell but after that he said he couldn't stay and needed to go. He said he had something important to do. But I couldn't let it go, I need to find my father.' Sam and Dean look at each other again. 'A demon? Are you sure?' Sam asks. I nod. 'What was your dad's name?' Dean asks.

'I don't know. I only know he's a hunter and that his friend's name is Tom'

'Believe it or not, Sam and I have some experience with finding missing fathers. Maybe we can help. But only if you want, 'cause we hunt monsters, sleep in crappy motel rooms and stuff. Not a very comfort life.'

My eyelids get suddenly very heavy and I feel the need to lie down. 'Where have you seen that Tom friend last' Dean asks. I nod a little. 'Somewhere in my last town.' I tell the boys about my village where I live. 'Are you alright?' Sam asks after my story. I nod.

Sam walks closer to me and gently pushes me down on the bed. 'Maybe it's better if you get some rest. Hopefully, the fever's away when you wake up tomorrow,' he says. I close my eyes and fall away in a long, dreamless sleep.
