One week later-
"Remind me again why we're having this dinner again," I said to Skyler for the one-hundredth time. I was currently at the grocery store picking up the few things that Skyler needed to complete dinner. Even though my shift at the hospital ended twenty-three minutes ago, she still wanted me to go to the store.
"I finally have a girlfriend and I want to introduce her to you guys." She says.
I roll my eyes. "That doesn't explain why we need to have dinner, or why we have to invite Levi's sister." I made sure to include the last part.
"The dinner is a plus, and I also want to meet Levi's sister," Skyler says. "You should be proud that I'm doing this."
"I am proud that you're doing this. Hell, I'm even proud that your dating again." I said. "I just don't know why we have to invite Levi's sister. She's racists and doesn't like me."
"Well make her like you."
"I can't make someone like me, that's their choice."
"Your right." Skyler agrees. "What I'm trying to say is, she's an important part of Levi's life and I'm pretty sure it'll make him happy seeing that his girlfriend and little sister are getting along."
I sighed. "I guess you're also right."
"I always am mate, and don't forget to buy butter."
"Alright," I said, before hanging up the phone.
🕷
"I'm home!" I yelled once I entered the front door. My hands were filled with grocery bags because there was no way I in hell I was going to make a second trip to the car.
Skyler walks out of the kitchen and takes some of the bags out my hands. "Come on, I need your help with some of the food." She says as we walk to the kitchen.
As soon as I walked into the kitchen, the rich aroma of food made itself known. My mouth instantly watered.
"It smells so good." I groaned.
Skyler smiles. "I know it does."
"Hopefully it has seasoning."
Skyler glares at me. "I'm Australian, and Australians always use seasoning." She says, cutting up some potatoes. "Can you bake some cookies please?"
"Sure," I said, getting my things ready. Mixing the cookie batter on high speed, I added all the initial ingredients to it. The cookie dough was now fluffy and light, so I took that as my cue to put it on the cookie tray and set it in the oven.
My phone binged, signaling that I had a text.
Levi😍😈: I'm at the door.
