"People may flatter themselves just as much by thinking that their faults are always present to other people's minds, as if they believe that the world is always contemplating their individual charms and virtues."

"Are sure your okay mate?" Skyler asks, through the phone. Even though she wasn't here, I could tell she was worried.
"I'm fine."
"I'm still coming down there." She says, firmly.
I sighed. "Can you bring me some new set of clothes. My current ones still have blood on them."
"Okay, I'll be there in twenty," Skyler says, before hanging up the phone. I lean back in my chair thinking about the things Katherine said. Maybe it was my fault Amanda got shot. I mean, I was the one who brought them to that side of town.
"I should've known better," I said to myself. The feeling of someone's eyes on me, made me snap out of my thoughts. Looking straight ahead, my eyes landed on a pair of brown eyes staring directly at me. His face was stern, mostly obscured by a beard that clung to his skin. His skin is just like mine, dark but also hinted with a little brown. The man looked to be somewhat too tall for his build.
"He's probably looking at all the blood." A voice says from behind me. Turning my head slightly, I see Levi's father. His eyes are the first thing that catches my attention. They were identical to Levi's, big and green. His graceful brows, made the actual grayish white hair on his head stand out. He had prominent cheekbones and a well-defined chin and nose.
"Your probably right."
Levi's father clears his throat. "Levi wanted me to tell you that Amanda is out of surgery and that everything went well. They're moving her into another room, where we can see her." He informs.
I smiled a little. "That's good, I'm glad she's doing alright."
"I am too." Levi's father says. An awkward silence falls between us, neither of us knowing what to say. "I'm sorry about what Katherine said." He says, breaking the silence.
"No need to apologize, you didn't do anything."
"I'm Nick Green if you didn't know." He says, changing the subject. "Since my son seems to really like you, you can just call me Nick," Nick said, taking a seat next to me. "Or Mr.Green, whichever you prefer."
