Angela's eyes snapped open as the sudden sound of her favorite song cut through her dark, peacefully quiet bedroom. With a groan, she grabbed her cellphone off the nightstand glowering at the message that appeared every day on the screen underneath the song's title.
5:30 am Alarm - wake upppp! hurry up and steal a cup of coffee :)
Angela quickly got out of the the covers and ran to the hook on the back of her bedroom door. She threw on her favorite fuzzy robe, the one that was all black, but covered in yellow crescent moons, and silently dashed down the inn's hallways, past Ruby's room, and down the stairs into the diner. She quickly grabbed her lavender mug she had placed by the coffee brewer the night before and made herself a cup of bitter, black coffee to start the waking up process.
She took the stairs back up to her room slowly, as she had won the race to beat Granny to the kitchen, and thought over the quiz she had studied for the night before. She absolutely had to beat Spencer this time....or twenty more dollars out of her diner paycheck.
At she thought of Spencer, she came across his Storybrooke High National Honor Society hoodie in her closet and slipped it on over her plain black T-shirt.
Ruby was wiping off the front counter when Angela returned to the kitchen, ready to waitress for an hour before her daily activities truly began.
"Long night?" Ruby asked with a chuckle, no doubt seeing the slight purple bags under Angela's eyes from last night's homework cramming.
"Not nearly as bad as usual. How'd you sleep?" Angela began taking the chairs off the tabletops and pushing them in underneath the tables.
"Like a baby," She used her charming sing-song voice and Angela could practically hear the soundless hair flip, "We really do need to go see that movie in Boston, Angela! Arrange your schedule."
"Like I can do that." Angela replied dryly.
"You know, when I was in high school I did this little thing. Oh what was it called? Oh yeah! Have fun."
"I do have fun." Angela was constantly annoyed at Ruby for bringing up her busy way of life. Not everything could be lipgloss, dyed red hair, and boyfriends left and right. She flinched at her own harsh thoughts about Ruby reminding herself that she absolutely adored her, but there was only so much she could take.
"Babysitting Henry Mills and hanging out with Spencer Green is not fun."
"Henry is the sweetest thing and Spence..." Angela hated the way her mind blanked when it came to Spencer Green.
"Your boyfriend," Ruby snickered from behind the counter.
Heat flashed across Angela's usually pale skin, "He is NOT my BOYFRIEND!" She shrieked and glared at Ruby who was snickering with her hands up in surrender.
"He wouldn't object if you two became something more." She couldn't help but smile in anticipation. Ruby loved playing matchmaker.
"He would too, we're best friends that's ridiculous."
"Okay, then why did he lend you his hoodie?"
"It was cold!"
"Whatever you say!" Ruby beamed at the cash register.
"RUBY SO HELP ME-"
"GIRLS!" Granny's voice cut through the kitchen.
"Is this a bad time?" Mary Margaret, Henry's teacher, tentatively stood in the doorway looking between Granny, Ruby, and Angela. Angela's eyes shot up to the clock which read 7:35am. Shit...the diner opened five minutes ago.
