So I roleplayed Hetalia with my bud Sofi. This happened. Also, she called it a merman but I'm set on it being a koiman due to a certain sentence in her starter. And yes, fluffy romance between a human and a fish-person-hybrid. No sex. That's just impossible (heh, like alot of the things here -- SHUT UP MIND).

Japan / Kiku Honda = Sofi

Germany / Ludwig Beilschdmit = Me/Guffle

The water of the great pond was clear as day, and plenty of treasured fish swam in it without a care in the world. The place was treasured and cared for almost extremely by the noble family that kept it, for if they didn't the being it had been built for would surely curse them, or so they believed. With the number of political affairs concerning them increasing, guests needed to be brought into the castle on a fairly regular basis. They took it as a chance to show off what wealth they held, though not once was anyone shown their greatest treasure. However, this time was different. The being that had been imprisoned by them had gotten out from his isolated place, wanting to have nothing to do with the cursed small space any longer. He swam around the pond freely, paying no mind to the fact that someone other than the usual people was there. His tail brushed the surface a number of times, the white and red pattern that could be attributed to koi being an obvious contrast against the surroundings. Soon, he decided to take a look above the surface and thus let his head rise above the water. This was something foolish, as he had surfaced just where the guest could see him.

Ludwig was, in a word, lost. He didn't know Japanese, and hence was brought along by the crowd to an overly-decorated castle's courtyard, sitting by a large koi pond to ponder why the hell he'd been brought here. He was now quite far away from the other guests, and he wouldn't want to be around them anyway in case of awkward Japanese/German/English conversations that nobody really felt all that pleasant to be in. He sat on a granite bench near the secluded pond, rubbing his temples. He heard a slight splash, but he passed it off as a koi doing a flip or something (Although, as they were not native to his country, he had no clue if the zen fish could do such things). He cracked open his eyes, coming face to face with a bored looking man's brown eyes, with Ludwig falling backwards off of the bench in shock, stunned. Sure, it could be a man simply taking a bath -- But,wait, was that normal here?! The German was entirely void of Asian concepts other than to bow to everyone you met to avoid getting dirty looks. He had simply been shipped off here on buisness, for the person who was originally going to do it had abruptly been sent to the hospital, and giving poor Ludwig no time to study up on the language or anything at all about Asia in general. So now he lay, sprawled on the floor and speechless (Would the man even understand German anyway? Or even English?), unable to speak to the brown-eyed bather before him.

The merman simply stared at the foreign guest, fascinated by how different the man's face and physique differed from the lady of the house and those he watched from day to day. For a moment, he completely forgot that he could be discovered and removed the man's presence at any moment. But even moments that felt like an eternity must come to an end, and so he dove into the water to hide as his face turned scarlet from shame. To stare at anyone in that manner was scorned, he'd learnt as much from his years in the secluded pond that was only for the lady's entertainment. The mermand hid behind one of the arrangements in the pond, though it wasn't that good of a hiding spot. As he darted away through the water, it would become obvious to the German just what he was, and how secretive of a family it was that had kept such a creature in the premises for years without any outsider ever noticing until now.

"Erm.. Hey!" Ludwig called out, but it seemed to be too late. But for a split second, he saw a fin jut out from the water where the man dived. The man.. Was a koi. "..Koiman?"
