Cinq.
"Oh my gosh, Lo! Congratulations!" I wrapped my arms around her in a bone crushing hug. She hugged me back and laughed.
"Thanks Morgs. Kenny decided it was time to get more serious in our relationship, so-"
"You're getting married as well!?" I shrieked.
She smiled at me and bit her lip. "I'm going to be a mother and a wife!" she squealed, giving me a bone crushing hug in return.
"Honestly, Lo, I am so happy for you. You and Laenna, and dad, always bullied me. For seventeen years. I can't tell you how happy I am that you're the one stepping out of the immaturity zone and growing up," I state, smiling at her.
"And I am so sorry for everything I did in the past," Loenna smiles back.
"At least you weren't the worst one. Laenna was the one that cut all my hair off when I was six and told me I had cancer," I chuckled.
"That's true, but do you remember when I shot you in the eye with a BB bullet and told you it was an accident? It really was an accident. Laenna hit my elbow which caused the bullet to hit you in the eye."
"Oh, right," I smirked. Loenna smiled at me and took my hand in hers.
"Let me be the sister I always failed to be."
"That would be great."
"Baby girl?" Andrew whispered from the doorway. I turned around and saw his face peeping around the corner.
"Yeah baby?" I asked.
"I don't think your dad likes me very much," he bit his lip and held back a laugh. Lo and I shook our heads in amusement.
"Don't worry about him, he was the same with Kenny," Lo assured him.
"I'll just assume Kenny's your boyfriend."
"Fiancé," she corrected him, showing Andrew her ring.
"Congratulations," Andrew smiled. The three of us walked to the lounge room to see Laenna sprawled out on the couch texting on her phone and my dad in the kitchen pouring himself a glass of Vodka. He really needed to sort out his drinking problem.
"Help yourself," I raised my eyebrows at my dad and he stared at me, raising the glass to his lips and sipped at the beverage.
Laenna looked away from her phone and snorted, "Fuck up."
"Lae, don't talk to her like that," Loenna frowned. Laenna looked at her twin, stunned.
"You're on her side now?"
"There are no sides, Laenna. Only our little step-sister that has been bullied by all of us since she was born," Lo stated, folding her arms across her chest.
"Whatever," she spat.
"Girls, I think it's about time we pay Mary a visit," my dad spoke up.
"Including me?" I asked.
"No, you're her neighbour, you can see her whenever you want."
"But-"
"No buts!" my dad roared. I held onto Andrew's hand and squeezed it tightly, clenching my teeth together to stop myself from yelling back at him.
"I might stay here, actually," Loenna said quietly. My dad looked at her and squinted. Weird, weird old man. "Struggling to see me?" she joked.
"I am squinting in disbelief," he stated.
