"Marinette! You can't get married! Married people have their own kids, and if you have your own kids, you'll forget about me!" Manon screamed, getting up in her babysitter's face.
Today, Marinette was watching the little girl in the Chamak family home. The reason being that her parents were home, but still needed someone to keep an eye on Manon while they prepared their house for a formal get-together that Nadja was hosting for other local news anchors.
"Oh, Manon." Marinette sighed "Adrien and I won't be ready to have our own kids for quite some time, and when we do, you'll be old enough to be their babysitter."
Manon's mouth hung open at the idea of her being given such a responsibility as to be a babysitter herself. "Promise?"
"Sure!" Marinette was sure to display a cheerful tone for the sake of the little girl, but couldn't help adding. "If our marriage lasts long enough for us to have any."
Though the last statement was made under Marinette's breath, Mrs. Chamak still caught it from where she was up on a chair, going through canned goods in a high cupboard. The astute reporter frowned and abandoned her task. "Marinette, do you want to talk about this?"
Nadja's question was rhetorical, and meant more along the lines of 'we are going to talk about this.' So soon, they were all seated, with Manon watching in confused curiosity.
"Marinette," she began "we were surprised, but happy for you when we first learned that you were getting married, but..." the woman's dark pink eyes shone with concern "hearing the way you talk about it... maybe you shouldn't get married. No one should go into a marriage they don't expect to last."
Marinette hung her head "it's not exactly our choice," she admitted.
As an extremely close friend of Marinette's mother, and on good terms with the girl's father as well, Nadja was nothing shy of shocked by the confession. Depicted as a relic of the past, she was vaguely awear that arranged marriage was still sometimes discreetly practiced, but here was a family she would have never suspected to be involved. "Why would they?" Nadja hugged Marinette, visibly upset "If you don't love him -".
"I do love him!" Marinette objected "but still..." she broke down and told her mother's friend every detail from dropping her sketchbook on, replacing only the details that were implicative of Ladybug and Chat Noir.
"I really must get back to work." Nadja gave the now openly distraught girl one last hug before returning to her previous task. From there she could hear the girl calm her shaking voice and tell Manon.
"You know, in weddings there are lots of important jobs with important titles that are split up among the friends and family of the bride and groom. One of those roles is the flower girl, and it requires a little girl just like you. Adrien and I don't know any other little girl we would trust with the job of scattering petals at our wedding. Will you be our flower girl?"
Manon giggled and jumped on the couch. "Don't worry, Marinette! I'll help you get married!"
Nadja shook her head to herself. As much as being a flower girl would be a good lesson in responsibility for her daughter, she wouldn't be serving at this wedding, because Nadja wasn't going to allow it to commence.

Soon, Gabriel was feeling the effects of a massive boycott on his company. Of course, there was the certain group of people who would buy his brand named goods no matter what, but the masses were avoiding him with a ten foot pole, some going so far as to publicly set fire to the apparel they already owned. Adrien showed his approval for the public support by doing the same, which in turn destroyed his entire wardrobe. He now wore a few outfits over and over that Marinette had hand-made for him on emergency notice. Their solidarity on this praticular matter was truly ironic.
The last straw came when police had to be called to chase an angry mob away from the Agreste resistance just two days before the wedding was scheduled to take place. His pride all but eaten up, Gabriel Agreste voluntarily came out to face the TV cameras. His plan to expand the prestige of his company had backfired drastically and now threatened him with bankruptcy, all because a genetic predisposition of the Cheng family seemed to inspire its members to befriend reporters. A/n - Seriously, Sabine is to Nadja as Marinette is to Alya.
Their venomous hatred instantly forgotten, the mob turned harmless croud hardly allowed the words to leave the leading designer's mouth before erupting into cheers. "All plans for the marriage of Adrien Agreste and Marinette Dupain-Cheng are here by called off."
A/n - The last chapter comes out tomorrow! I won't be starting another full length fan-fiction for a while, but I do have a budding idea. I kind of want to write a fanfiction where an akuma hits Ladybug and Chat Noir with a spell that changes what language they understand. Honestly, this is more for me to practice my language studies than anything else.
I don't speak a lick of French, so I'll have to represent it with English. Really, that's what we all do when we write Miraculous fanfiction, is it not?
I'm going to make one of them speak Spanish, and the other speak German, which shouldn't be too far off since Spain and Germany both border France. My question for you is, who do you think should speak which language?
