Isla O'Conner was eleven when she ran away from her family to go to Hogwarts, as she was a muggle-born. Her younger sister would eventually develop magical abilities on her own but she would never know.. She stayed at Hogwarts and even fought in the First Wizarding War.
Years later, she married Jakob O'Conner and they eventually had a daughter, Eilis Moira O'Conner. She had magical abilities but they obliviated her memory of them as often as possible. They moved to Aberdeen, Scotland to stay under the magical world's radar until Jakob's death when Eilis was young. Isla managed on her own until the obliviation power dwindled over Eilis. She told Eilis that magic was bad and she should never use it. The power would fade with disuse.
Unbeknownst to the small family, Eilis would need her magic sooner than expected.
