Writing Prompt: Miscellaneous - "Are you really gonna leave without asking me the question you've been dying to ask me?" _
"Hey, Y/N?"
The girl jumped slightly when she heard the voice from behind her, turning around to come face to face with her lab partner and friend, Chris. She smiled softly. "Hey, Chris."
He smiled softly at her. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." he said, shoving a hand into his pocket while he gripped his backpack strap with his other hand.
Y/N waved a hand in dismissal. "It's fine. I've had worse." she shrugged, hugging her notebook to her chest and leaning back against her locker. "What's up?"
"I was just wondering if you were doing anything during free period later?" Chris asked, chewing his lip softly.
Y/N shrugged. "I was just going to go the library and look over some notes for my math test tomorrow. Why? Did you have something else in mind?" she asked, raising her eyebrows.
"Actually, I had the same thing in mind. I have a geography test that I am definitely going to flunk if I don't get some studying in." Chris chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. "You don't mind if I join you, do you?"
"Of course not. I'd love that." Y/N smiled.
"Great. I-I'll see you then." Chris smiled softly, turning on his heel to walk away.
Y/N rolled her eyes fondly, knowing he wasn't finished. "Hey, Chris?"
The brunette male turned around, raising his eyebrows. "Yeah?"
"Are you really going to leave without asking me the question you've been dying to ask me?" Y/N questioned, raising her own eyebrows.
Chris' face turned a nice shade of scarlet. "Not anymore..." he said softly, smiling sheepishly at his friend.
Y/N grinned. "Ask away, Chris."
Chris cleared his throat softly, rubbing the back of his neck. "Would you uh, would you maybe want to go get something to eat after school today? Just you and me?" he asked, wringing his fingers together gently.
The girl smiled brightly, nodding her head. "I'd love to." she said, biting her bottom lip softly.
Chris beamed at the girl and nodded. "Great. Meet me out front after last period?"
Y/N grinned. "You're on."
