Peter flew faster than he had ever flown. He didn't even look to see if Little Bell was behind him. When the cold wind of fear had tried to drag him to the Captain as he left Neverland, he shut his eyes and thought of Wendy and his boys, picking up speed.Peter was above her now. He took one look and then...He moved like lightning, ramming the full force of his flight into the side of the guard on her left, knocking them all down, the air going out of them. Wendy's legs were pinned but she didn't even think to move as she was trying desperately to get air into her lungs. Peter pulled with all he had and moved the large man off of her, dropping him again, moving to the carriage.
Using his second favorite knife - which was considerably larger - he cut the leather straps holding the steeds to the carriage harness. With a slap he sent them galloping away at top speed. Peter turned again to look at the two men who had held Wendy, only to find them on their feet. One moved slowly towards Peter and the other pulled Wendy roughly to him. Luckily for Peter he had spent several thousand years fighting young boys, some of whom were significantly larger than him. He squared up with his opponent and they moved around each other.
So fast Wendy could hardly see, he slammed the entirety of his weight just below the man's knee caps sending him reeling over the boy's shoulder. The boy swung around quickly and, crashing to ground, brought his elbow into the man's temple knocking him unconscious.
Peter turned to the last man standing, Wendy in front of him, and assessed the situation. He smirked and said with as much derision as possible, "What? Don't tell me you need to hide behind a girl. Face me man to man. Unless...you think you can't take me on without her protecting you." The thug pushed Wendy to the ground and lunged at Peter. The boy dodged just in time, the man's shoulder brushing his shirt as he barreled past. Peter recovered quickly and jumped onto the man's back putting his head in a firm lock with his arms. The thug struggled for a while, but being quite a bit larger than Peter threw his weight backwards, landing flat on the ground, Peter trapped underneath him.
With the wind knocked out of him and having hit his head pretty solidly, Peter's vision spotted. Instead of struggling, though, he wrapped the crook of his elbow even tighter around the man's throat, squeezing as hard as he could. The man beat his head backwards into Peter's chin, hoping to loosen his grip. Loosen it it did. The thug gasping for air.
Wendy watching the whole thing from the ground, shocked back to reality when she realized that Peter was fading slightly. She pulled herself to her feet with a wince and ran around them, grabbing a piece of the broken leads of the carriage, bringing the wood down hard into the man's stomach. The thug rolled to his side curling up around the pain, releasing most of Peter's body from underneath him. With quite a bit of struggling and shoving, Peter freed his other arm and leg wasting no time in flipping the man back onto his back and sending a solid landing punch into the man's temple. The thug went limp.
Wendy dropped the piece of wood on the ground and Peter caught her before she dropped to her knees in exhaustion from the fear. "Wendy Darling, are you alright?" He pushed her away from him slightly, looking her over. She nodded, looking very far away. With alarm he started"What happ-"
A man's voice boomed across the courtyard "What is the meaning of this?" He looked around and immediately found Wendy wrapped in another man's arms. "Release my property at once!" The man was too thin, grey and...greasy. Peter recognized him immediately. He started to descend the steps the palace guard coming out after him. Including the old palace guard, Will, who had first answered Wendy's cry when Peter had tumbled into her window the first time. He staring daggers at the man's back.
Peter's voice was dangerously low as he stood, pulling Wendy up and tucking her behind him slightly. "Wendy is no one's property, and she will be coming with me."
