My eyes drowsily opened. I was still in the hospital/lab room, lying on my back, wings spread out. I tried to move my arms but nothing happened. I couldn't move, panic erupted in me and confusion made my breathing become unsteady.
What's happening? Where am I?
Nothing gave away any clues so I decided not to struggle. I managed to look at my self. I was in my body suit, it obviously had been cut smaller because now the legs were cut into shorts and the arms were gone, showing off my pale skin dotted with a few freckles.
I sniffed the air, the smell of antiseptic filled my lungs and I tried not to cough. You can understand that I hate that smell.
A slight beeping noise slowly repeated its self like a broken record through my head. Make it stoooop. I thought, now I really wish I had telekinesis, I could make it shut up with my mind. I let out a loud groan, hoping that someone could hear me and pay attention to me!
I heard a door open and someone's footsteps echo around the empty concrete room. Well, that worked.
"Who's there?" I said, since I couldn't move I was basically helpless.
"It's just me, clam down." Commanders familiar voice said.
"Oh heeey." I said sarcastically. "Listen, not that I don't enjoy that I can't move and that I think I just went through surgery but WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?"
"It's hard to explain but yeah... you did go through surgery-"
"I FRIGGING KNEW IT!" I interrupted.
"And now I am here to get you out of the rest of it."
"Good." I said as he finally stood next to me. "Because I am so sick of being treated as a lab toy."
He pulled out a needle. "Oh hell no, that shit ain't going near me again." I said, he gave me that 'don't-ever-say-that-again' look. "It's not going to make you unconscious, it's going to help you move again." He reassured me. "Good." I mumbled.
I closed my eyes as I felt the tip break through my skin on my arm. as he pulled it out a tingling sensation travels up my arm and through my body. I moved my fingers, arms and legs.
"Ok, let's go get the others!" I said, slowly I propped my self up and slid out of the bed. "Just one question, where are Missile and Angel?"
"Just shut up." He said and pulled me out the door. There were no people around.
"Is it nighttime or something?" I asked, a puzzled look on my face.
"Shh." Commander hissed.
We hurried down the hall in silence and arrived at his office, he pulled out a key and opened the door where I was greeted with a familiar face.
"Missile!" I said and she stood up, an angry look on her face.
"What does that mean?" She asked, looking at the commander.
"What does what mean?" He asked, obviously confused.
"The 'they're just science toys?" She said through clenched teeth.
"I'll explain soon, just come on, we have to get Angel."
Missile silently obeyed and followed behind as we made our way to our room. As we went around the last corner a horrid sense of dread filled my chest and I didn't even know why, until I saw that the door was open and the room was empty.
