She was cold and had nowhere to go. Maybe she did have a place to go to, but that was a long time ago and her return wouldn't be welcomed now. She let out a sigh. It was a sight with many emotions; despair predominant among them.
It was a cold night. In fact, tonight was one of the chilliest nights the city had ever experienced. She was wearing only a flimsy dress, and a coat that barely kept her warm. She did have a pair of slippers but after one of them got lost, she abandoned the other one too.
Abandoned. It was such a simple word. easy to pronopunce, but the weight one word carried was unimaginable. She remembered all the things she had abandoned. Things she loved - so much, she couldn't even think about hurting them. And now...... What goes around comes around, huh? She had learnt that. Very well.
Trudging along the path, she searched for a place to spend the night. A good place. Someplace where she would feel safe. Someplace where the monsters won't be able to reach her. The wind blew, making her long, tangled hair and her dress flow. She knew she was a mess. If she were to be lying someplace now, she would be assumed to be dead.
She was dead, as a matter of fact. Dead to so many people. The only thing alive about her were her eyes. Those green, almond-shaped eyes that were always alive and burning. The glow of the fire in her eyes might have dimmed a bit, but it was still there.
All of a sudden, a light caught her eye. It wasn't a street light. Instead, the light was coming from a somebody's house. Who could be up at this hour? It was well past midnight. Maybe this was a sign. She did believe in them, after all.
She ran up to the door and rang the doorbell. Once, twice, thrice. Nothing. No one answered the door, no one ushered her in and offered her shelter, no one welcomed her. Again. This was a sign. he wasn't meant to be anywhere.
Losing all hope, she sat down on the front lawn and started weeping. Her sobs were that of a broken person. She was broken beyond repair. Trying to glue her back would be futile and she knew it. She just wished that someone would try.
The moon was full and its luminous beams glowed upon everything, lighting them up. One of it's beams hit her face. But it was soon covered by the shadow. It was the shadow of a person. But she had fallen aseep and was oblivious to the world around her.

Harry
Harry could not stop staring at the figure below him. He was scared, to the say the least. And a million questions were running through his mind. Was the girl alive? What happened to her? Should he call the police? Or his parents? Would they even answer? He could not decide what to do. Maybe she should try waking her up. But what if she didn't?
He had heard his doorbell ringing, but was too lazy to answer it. Why should he, anyway? Nut now he was regretting it. He should have opened the door. What if the girl was dead because of him? It wouldn't be the first time someone died and it was his fault.
He crouched down to get a closer look at the girl and one look at her face caught him off guard. She was divine. Like an angel. And she was breathing. That calmed him. And he was flooded with sheer joy. Joy he couldn't understand, neither did he want to. For right now, the only thing in his mind was her. Her porcelain skin, fine nose and full lips. Her black hair all over her dirt-covered face. With trembling fingers, Harry swiped off the strands of hair off the angel's face. There, better now.
His fingers grazed her skin and maybe that gave him an adrenaline rush, because without thinking about anything anymore, Harry lifted the girl with his arms and took her inside the house.

Analeigh
Analeigh woke up as soon as the sun rays hit her face. Her first reaction after waking up was pain, immense pain and then she took in her surroundings. She was in a room decorated mostly with beige. Beige walls, beige carpet. The bed she was sitting in was beige too. Except the t-shirt she was wearing. It was red and.....not her own!
She started to panic. Someone had undressed her! Someone had brought her in! Where the hell was she?! Analeigh tried to remember yesterday's events. As soon as she did, the dulling pain began to revive but she pushed it back and concentrated on last night's happenings. She remembered the cold, the light, the house. And then..... And then she had fallen asleep on the lawn. Maybe someone carried her in then. But who? Nobody had answered the door.
Rushing out of the room, she ran down the flight of stairs to what looked like the living room. Sound was blaring from somewhere in the room. Analeigh tiptoed silently towards the sound. She was holding in her breath, not daring to make even a peep. And then she saw him.

Harry
Harry couldn't sleep all night. He tossed and turned on his bed, but his mind was only on the girl. This was the first time he had seen her, and he had barely spoken to her but he felt something about her that he was sure he had never felt before. The way he rubbed the dirt off her face, the way he undressed her, kept running through his mind. What will her reaction be when she wakes up?
Not being able to think of anything else, Harry let out a groan and rolled out of his bed. He silently walked to the room the girl was sleeping in and opened the door as slowly as possible, not wanting to disturb her. She was still sleeping. The gentle up and down motion of her breath gave his heart a little squeeze. It was a pleasurable pain.
it was weird for Harry. Not the fact that he had an unknown girl in his house, but the fact that they were in separate rooms. He went down to the kitchen to get a bottle of water, but deciding against it, grabbed a can of beer and a box of leftover pizza instead and settled down in front of the television.
It was 4 a.m. The sun would be coming out in about 2 hours. Harry started flipping through the channels, wanting to rid his mind of the mental images of the girl. But there was nothing that could hold his interest. She was the only one. Mixed with images of his personal monsters.
He was so lost in his thoughts, that he didn't even realise when the sun started shining. Looking at the time, Harry stood up and stretched. Should he go wake her up? Offfer her breakfast in bed? Or just let her sleep? He went with the latter and turned around - only to find her standing there.
