Chapter 13- Flapping about

“This is so stupid Liam” I moan.

“You need to use all of your senses Rose”.

“So putting a blind fold on me works?” I question.

“Yes because it tests your senses like this” he says before kicking me in the butt.

“Ow!” I shout. “Watch it”.

“Focus Rose” he hisses.

“Don’t worry Rose, he always goes on like this during training” I hear Niall says. I feel cold breath on my shoulder. I turn around as I fling my arm out.

“So close Rosie” Liam giggles.

“I refuse to fight” I say. The next thing I know my legs lost the ground and my side was the first thing to hit the mats.

“That’s what’s going to happen if you refuse” I hear him say. I take the blind fold off.

“I don’t want to. This is boring” I moan.

“I did tell you Liam that she wouldn’t want to do it. I didn’t want to do it” Niall says backing me up and giving me a comforting look.

“Well you gave in after a while. We’ll just have to bribe her or black mail her” he says. I quickly jump up and start running away from Liam who was right on my tail. If I only I could fly, I would probably get away from him. Why do I have to do this stupid thing anyway? I can usually fend for myself. Liam is just too overprotecting.  I stop running and look at Liam. He was just standing, gawping at me.

“What Liam? Given up already” I giggle.

“Rose you might want to look at yourself in the mirror”.

“Why, is my hair a…” As I turn around, I was waiting to see my hair sticking out but instead I found a black bat staring right back at me.

“Ohmygod. I’m a bat. An actual bat” I squeal. “And I’m talking. How do bats talk? Thought it would change my voice a little but you know”. I fly a little closer. “I have purple eyes. Oh and lovely white teeth. I look really cool. How come you boys never told me about this?” I ask as I turn to face Niall and Liam.

“None of us turn into bats Rose” Liam finally spoke.

“Stop joking Liam”.

“I’m not Rose” Liam says putting on a serious face.

“Then how do I change back?” I question.

“I don’t know Rose. Niall call the boys back from wherever they are. Tell Louis to go to the library and pick up some vampire folk law, we’re going to have to do some research” he says. Niall sprinted upstairs leaving me and Liam alone.

“We’ll sort this out Rose, I promise”.

“Liam, I don’t want to be a bat forever” I whimper. I fly over to him and rest on his shoulder. “This sucks”.

“I have never seen a bat pout on somebody’s shoulder. This is both weird and exciting at the same time” he chuckles.

“Yeah laugh it off stalkeak” I mutter. He walks up the stairs and into the living room where Harry, Zayn, Louis and Niall were all sitting on the couches and the floor reading books. Liam cleared his throat making them all look up. I wave my wing.

“Hello guys”.

“She’s a bat. You weren’t joking were you Niall?” Harry says.

“Yeah. Don’t stare, bats have feelings” Niall whispers.
