Chapter 38: The Truth Hurts...

I quietly sneaked out of the house, careful not to wake Jungkook up so that I could go out to meet Tae.

I don't know why he wants to meet me at this hour but I was curious as to what he wanted to say over the text.

Text:

Tae: "Can we talk? I'm at the park near the house."

I had no clue what was coming.

I walked briskly to the park and tried to find him at it was easy since there was only him standing below the lamppost.

From a distance away, I saw him standing there with his hands tuck into the pockets of his jacket and the bottom half of his face was covered with his black turtle neck.

I sighed and walked towards him.

Y/N: "So... What is it that you want to say at this hour?"

He turned to face me and just kept quiet as he started to fidget around. It seems like he is hesitant to say what's on his mind.

Y/N: "Well?"

I asked with an eyebrow raise waiting for him so say a word.

After a while of complete silence, he finally spoke.

Tae: "I have something to tell you."

Y/N: "Yes I know that. So why don't you just say what you have to say. I'm freezing out here."

I started to fidget too since the cold was getting to me.

Tae: "The reason why we broke up...

I immediately stopped what I was doing and listened to him intently.

Tae: "it's because...our relationship is more than that."
Y/N: "What? Tae... I don't get you."
Tae: "I'm saying that... We cannot be toget-"
Y/N: "Look Tae. If you called me out here at this hour just to tell me why we broke up then please just go home. You're wasting your time and my time."

I rolled my eyes and was about to turn and walk away when I felt him held onto the end of my sleeve.

Y/N: "Tae. Let g-"
I tried to struggle out of his grip when suddenly he spoke out

Tae: "I'm your brother."

Those few words that came out of his mouth certainly made me stunned. My eyebrows furrowed.

What is he saying?
Is he nuts?
Drunk?

Y/N: "What are you saying? Is this some kind of joke?"
Tae: "it's not."

I didn't believe it. Everything sounds so ridiculous. To me, everything that he said is just nonsense. But his serious tone and his behaviour got me thinking twice.

He pulled my hand back so that I could face him and he slowly look down.
As if trying to hide his face.

Y/N: "I-I don't know- what?"
Tae: "it's the truth. You said that you wanted to know the secret... So I've said it."
