I kneeled down staring at my eyes in the glistening water, as a tear rolled down my thin cheek; it made little ripples in the lake. I splashed my hand to make this reflection disappear completely. My mother had died two days ago, and every time I stared hopelessly at my reflection that was all I saw was my mother's hazel eyes in my face. My mother was the Queen of my homeland, the best place on Earth, Estonia. The green, rolling hills reminded me of my mother's love for nature. The fruit trees gave me visions of us playing and eating the fruit under the trees. My favourite view was from my bedroom window on the highest point of the royal castle, rows of old-fashioned buildings against snow-capped mountains. If I looked down towards the marketplace and garden, the same flash-back kept replaying in my mind. My mother and I were in the carriage adoring the freshly 'groomed' garden. We had jumped off the carriage in the midst of the rose bushes and sped towards the marketplace. The rest of it was a blur, it happened so quickly...

"Kim! Watch out!" My mother pushed me out of the way of the speeding truck. But, she wasn't quick enough to move herself out of the way.

"Mom, No!" I was held back by the local villagers.

All I heard after the accident was a villager speaking, "Get her back to the castle right away! And report this to the King!" It was all over. My mother was not in this world anymore.

I decided my mother was my life, my reason for living. But, I was to be the heir to the throne. The youngest Queen Estonia has ever known, thirteen, and ruling a kingdom with her father. Overwhelming? Definitely. Though, I had no choice whether to take my mother's place or not... I kept thinking it was my entire fault, the accident, everything.

My mother's coffin was beautiful but it was nothing compared to her in real life, chocolate brown hair, hazel eyes, laugh lines, and childish smile. Those were the main things that reminded me of her. Me, I was tall and slender, with my mother's eyes, Brown hair with Blonde highlights, and my face had no sign of ever smiling again. I was an only child, and within two days I might have been the only thirteen year old I could think of who had at least 400 pounds worth of responsibilities on her shoulders.

I walked back to the castle with my shoulders drooped. As I saw one of the gardeners I quickly wiped my tears with the sleeve of brand new pink gown.

"Why, hello Kim, How are you?" he called.

"I'm not fine. But thanks, anyway for asking." I replied bitterly.

Lawrence was one of my favourite gardeners, I had never spoken to him this way before, but I knew he understood how I felt because he had lost his mother too (but that is another story.) Lawrence was always optimistic, no matter what was happening he always acted as though there was party going on in his brain 24/7. He waved goodbye with one hand and clipped fresh roses with another.

I sulked up the narrow steps to my room, which greeted me with the sunset from my large window with a baby blue seating at the front. I looked around my room seeing the drawings that I had made. I had loved those drawing until 2 days ago. In fact, I had loved everything until 2 days ago. Thinking of that I rushed to the window and whooshed the curtains shut. I decided in that very instant I wanted nothing in my room that reminded me of my mother. First, I took down at least 12 pictures of my mother and I (Guess how much I love her?) Then I took down the painting that we made together it was beautiful. An oil painting, it had nature theme with moss covered trees and a stream in the background. Also, there was something that I never noticed before; there was a deer and a fawn. I looked closer at the two animals; the deer had something written in it...

A.N. Hey! I really, really hope you
