To Kim,
My daughter, you are my life and my universe, never forget how much I love you. Remember to always be yourself because that is what you do best. Never stop believing Never stop smiling. Look at this painting and only remember me and you. Never hurt anyone even if they have hurt you, because no one deserves to be unhappy.
Love, i
Mom ♥
At that very moment I flew across my room and put everything back into place. I sighed, remembering what my mother said, "Never stop believing. Never stop smiling." I went to my mirror and tried my best to smile. I had might as well work on the first part; I'd work on the believing part later I thought. After I had perfected my smile I put on some jeans and a t-shirt. I put on a huge grin on my face once again and ran down the stairs, stumbling every other step. As I ran across the throne room, I saw my father staring at my blossomed enthusiasm with one bushy, brown eyebrow raised. He had his thinking face on, the one where his brown, curly hair got messy and he got those 'lines' on his forehead. I stopped at once and went to my father.
"Father, what's wrong (I wasn't to use slang with my father, he said it was inappropriate for royalty, so I couldn't say, Dad, what's up?)?"
"Nothing IS wrong, honey." He exaggerated on the word is, trying to tell me not to say what's. He continued, "But what are you doing running about the castle in those clothes; it is not fit for a princess. Especially one as beautiful as you" he smiled at the end of his short speech.
I stared at him for a second with my mouth wide open and left with a quick bye over my shoulder. I didn't have time to put up with my father's nonsense right now. I ran to the garden, I knew that was where I would find him.
"Hi, Lawrence sorry for sulking earlier, I just didn't understand what to do. I felt so...alone." I said quickly as I approached my favourite person in the kingdom (and the only person who didn't refer to me as Princess Kim, daughter of deceased Queen Ella and daughter of King Richard, I mean who needs to be called in such a formal way... it makes no sense.)
Lawrence stared at my clothing in amazement, as I had been wearing dull colors and just today the colorful part of my closet had started to shine through.
I stared back at him, he was wearing a blue and green plaid shirt, jeans, and a sneakers. By the time I looked up again I saw his reddish-brown hair was gelled down and he was wearing a perfect smile. I couldn't help but smile back. Lawrence had the most perfect teeth in the world.
Finally he spoke, "Kim, honey, why are apologizing it's not your fault. In fact I expected you to sulk for a year or two." He teased playfully at the end, tickling me. I giggled. It was so easy to act like myself with Lawrence. I thought of him as my older brother, even though he was in his twenties, and I was only thirteen.
"Kim, it is almost 6:00p.m. And you should be in the Throne Room attending to the townsfolk and their problems." Lawrence looked as if he didn't want to break the news to me. I guess he was scared that I would start sulking again. I laughed.
"It's fine. I'll go, but I'm only thirteen how am I supposed handle their problems? Will Father be there with me?" I rubbed my temples; I have been starting to get a bit of a head-ache with all of this royalty nonsense.
"Yes, of course! Though, before going to the throne room go upstairs and put on a formal gown, some fancy shoes, put on your tiara and please make your hail suitable." He said eyeing my high pony-tail.
I rolled my eyes. "Fine, I'll be fit like a princess!" I winked and ran back towards the castle. Lawrence laughed and waved good-bye.
In my room, I shook my long hair out of my ponytail and watched it go down to my waist. I searched through my enormous closet until I found my favourite gown; it was brown with beautiful beading and threading at the top, it had golden netted sleeves and a golden rim at the bottom. The best part was that it was made of silk; it felt like a thousand feathers were caressing me against my skin. I slipped on the dress. Quickly, I put on some makeup which matched my outfit. Looking at my elegant clock tick closer to 6:00, I scrunched up my hair into a bun, stuffed some simple clips in it, and finally put on my tiara. My tiara had any type of jewel you could think of; sapphires, diamonds, opals, and so many more! It was beautiful. I stared my bare-feet for a second and rushed to my shoe-closet keeping my tiara in place. I found matching flats (I detested the sound of heels when I walked) and put them on.
I ran down the stairs, only to find my father at the end of them. He took my hand and said, "Welcome to royalty Princess Kim."
A.N. Tell me how you like it. If you want any changes? Alright I'm going to type up the next part now!
