Fox and the dog

chapter 8

The walk back to my new house was..weird. There was so many buildings, sounds and smells. To be honest they kind of intimated me at first but with a little courage boost from Naruto I inched down the path. Many people looked at Naruto and I. My ears twitched as I listen to their conversations. Some were questioning on how Naruto got me. Others were saying some horrible things. i flattened my ears against my skull blocking them out.

We stopped into a butchers. Sitting outside and looking into the small shop, my mouth watered. I loved meat with a passion. Finally Naruto stepped back outside. Yipping to catch his attention he peered down "what's up girl?". I point at the entrance of the shop. " why you go there?" i ask . He smiled and showed me a white plastic bag. " I was getting you some food, Its not expensive meat but meat is meat" he says.

I yelp in delight and jump around in circles. He laughs, telling me to calm down. we get to his apartment building. It looked a little run down from the surrounding buildings but i didn't stop to question him about it.  After climbing all the the stairs we get to a door and he unlocks it. I step in first and instantly sneeze. The smell of bleach was over powering. He laughs at me while taking his shoes off. "sorry about the smell, Kiba made sure I cleaned it properly but don't worry because it will fade pretty quick." 

Nodding my head i decided to explore the small apartment while Naruto prepared food. IT consisted of a small living/dinning room, a kitchen, his bedroom and a bathroom. He also had a small balcony where he had some clothes drying. I ran into the kitchen and sat on the floor watching him cook. I noticed he wasn't that good at  it but who was I to say? I'm only a kitsune. Finally he sits a small bowl of lightly cooked chicken by the smell of it in front of me.

He smiles down at me. " I know you are used to eating it raw but I felt weird handing you raw chicken so I cooked it slightly". I nod my head and dig in, wolfing the food down. He laughs and sits down enjoying his meal. By the time he is half way through his, I'm licking the bowel clean. I sit back and purr happily with a full stomach. 

Naruto finishes quickly afterwards and I sit watching him clean up. He leans on the counter staring at me. i look back at him. " alright ___ time for a bath". I ran. I hated baths. When mom would tell me it was bath time she would have to chase me around the forest clearing first. I dive under his bed and hide hoping he will give up on trying to bathe me. " Come on ___ i don't like baths either but they aren't that bad!" he calls out.

He was shuffling around the apartment trying to find me....and was failing terribly at it. Thinking I was safe, I curled up and closed my eyes. After a short time I was grabbed out from beneath the bed frame. struggling I try to break from his hold but unfortunately he had me by the scruff meaning I wasn't going anywhere soon. I whine softly. " sorry ___ but you need a bath!". he carries me to the already filled bathtub. 

"when did he he fill it?" I ask myself. He lowers me into the water and to my delight  its warm. Nothing like the baths my mother used to give me. slowly he washes me with a coconut shampoo and conditioner made  for dogs. When done he drys me with a towel and brushes me, making my fur lovely and silky. Grinning Naruto pets me. " See that wasn't so bad now was it?". I pout slightly " guess not".

"Now lets get to bed because we have training tomorrow with Kiba" Naruto explains. I yawn and follow him. He sets me on the end of his bed and i make myself comfortable. I drift to sleep pretty quickly.
