Malice shone in fiery, amber eyes as the girl stood from her respectful bow to stare defiantly up at her queen. The queen was garnished in a violet, velvet gown. The dress matched the queen's authoritative, violet gaze. Her hair was strawberry blond, clashing with the colors she advertised.

The queen openly returned the disrespectful glare; however, it was far more menacing in a violet flame, rather than one of amber. The tension in the room was obvious, but was challenged by the bemused grin that tugged at the queen's lips. "Leave," the queen commanded her guards. They left without hesitation, leaving the her to stare down upon the two adolescents that stood before her.

They were residents of the mortal realm- a fact advertised by the clothing they wore. The girl wore black Converse, leggings, and a leather jacket over a red tank-top. The boy wore sneakers, a black T-shirt, and jeans. They both had chestnut-colored hair that messily fell in waves around their faces. The male's eyes appeared to be black, conflicting with the blazing eyes of the girl.

"State your business here in my realm," the queen said, knowing full well why they were there.

The boy stepped forward and bowed politely before the queen, leaving the unnamed girl still standing and staring with deadly flare at the queen. The queen simply held her glare, though she spoke to the boy.

"Why is it that you've not forgotten who you're addressing, whereas your companion has?"

"Pardon her, your majesty. And to answer your question, I believe you're fully aware of why we stand before you," the boy replied, raising his eyes to the queen.

"Am I?"

"Enough with the games, Delphine."

The queen's grin disappeared. "You could learn a lot from your companion." The queen extended her hand swiftly, causing the female to fly back into the wall at the other end of the grand throne room.

The boy jumped up from his kneeling position. Within a moment, he was behind the queen's throne, holding a dagger to her throat in warning.

The queen simply laughed. "You shall address me with respect."

"My apologies, your majesty. You must know there's another reason for our presence in your court."

"Silence!" The queen snapped. The boy involuntary dropped the dagger and then fell in front of the throne, his body under the command and at the mercy of the queen's will.

"Where is she, Delphine?!" he demanded.

"I refuse to reveal to you who and where she is!" The queen stood, snapping her fingers. Her dress instantly combusted, burning from the bottom up. "This marks the day of which the Violet Phoenix burns, leaving ashes for the new Demon Queen to rise in its place." Within moments, the queen was reduced to ashes.

The moment she disappeared, the male turned to the girl who was picking herself up and brushing off her clothing.

"They're all stubborn... We'll find her, don't be discouraged. Once we find her... A torturous death awaits the new Violet Phoenix. And our triumphant victory lies in claiming her throne."
