I walked to school and found that I was late for class. I walked in class and sat in my usual spot up front by the windows. The teacher was passed out asleep at his desk. I sat there waiting for class to end, when a girl walked up to me from the back of the room. I realized she was the person Helga was talking to back at the store. She had golden blonde hair, pale creamy white skin, and brown eyes."Hi my name is Sariya," she said smiling bashfully.
"Nice to meet you too," I said smiling, "I am Alexander, but you can call me Alex if you want."
"Nice tattoo," She complimented me earnestly.
All I could think right then was what tattoo. I whispered through connection to Iris, "Do I have a tattoo?"
"Yes, all witches have one, it symbolizes their bond to their familiar," Iris told me.
I realized that Sariya was still waiting for me to tell her the story behind my tattoo."It has a special meaning for me," I told her, "I got it because how much I love my pet cat."
I felt Iris's irritation over the word "pet".
"She means the world to me," strangely as I told Sariya this I felt it was true.
I felt Iris purring with joy that radiated at the edges of my mind.Sariya and me hung out at lunch. She asked me what my cat looked like, so I told her.
She was fascinated with Iris and I could tell Iris was loving the attention.
She seemed pretty cool. She loves her combat boots and all her black clothing, but her mom won't let her leave the house wearing them to any pubic event. Apparently school was considered a public event.
I had just realise that I had forgot to put on my eyeliner and took it out to put some on."OooOooh, may I use some of that," Sariya asked?
"Sure, help yourself," I told her and continued to hand her my eyeliner.
She is the first friend I had, who nothing but nice to me here. Most people were only nice to me here when they wanted something from. It was a refreshing change to have a friend who don't have some hidden agenda. It felt nice to have a friend. It felt like a warm beach with sweet smells drifting in the background nice.
"Hey Iris are you here right now," I asked her via our unspoken bond.
"Yes," she replied. She felt like she just woke up from a mid day nap.
"Can you come meet my new friend," I ask her pleadingly?
I felt her rolling the question around trying to decide what to do."Sure, why not," she told me nonchalantly. I felt her coming towards me.
When she arrived Sariya gasped with her hand to her mouth. Her expression was that of awe and reverence.
"She is so beautiful, gorgeous, words do not do her justice," Sariya exclaimed and tried to grab her only to come up empty.
"If she tries grabbing me one more time, I don't care if she a smart girl who knows beauty when she sees it, she gets clawed," Iris told me while letting a warning yowl out to let Sariya know what's what. She then proceeded to climb in my lap and purr with content.
"She doesn't like people getting grabby," I told Sariya.
"By the way what does my tattoo look like," I asked Iris mentally."Like this," Iris than showed me through her eyes what my tattoo looked like. It had a iridescent glow of a silver-white color to it. I had three whiskers running down my cheekbones in a flowing yet tribal manner. It kinda hurt my head looking through her eyes but it was also fascinating the amount of detail she saw and catalog all at once. I kinda like seeing the way she does except the headache though.
"Your adjusting faster than I expected," Iris commented, "It will get easier as time passes, you might even be able to change your own eyes in the future."
"So I don't know any other way to ask, people say your gay is it true," Sariya asked?
"Yeah," I said scratching my head in awkwardness.
"That is awesome," Sarita said with fan girl excitement. It was the best feeling in the world to have someone who accepted me for who I was and thought I was cool for it. Just then the bell rung and she went inside. I sat there for a sec realizing Iris was still on my lap purring and people were staring at her. I decided to talk to her for a bit.
"Does it bother you that they stare," I asked Iris.
"Not really, just more of a irritation, but all that matters is that I am who I am and to be proud of that," Iris told me kindly.
"I was wondering that's all," I told her, "I really wish I didn't have to go home."
"Why," She asked me?
"Things have been just getting worse at home," I told her, "Just last week they took all the money I had been saving up for a car."
"I would never do that," Iris replied with a swish of her tail in anger, "we cats tend to prefer living off the land."
"So how come we can talk like this," I asked her.
"Umm...If you don't mind skipping your school, I can tell you," She told me, as she stood stretching in my lap before she hopped out of it.
"Sure," I told Iris with a shrug and got up on to my two feel.
I knew it was important that she was leading me someplace.
