EMERY’S POV
I laid on Nolan’s bed, silent tears coming from my eyes. It had been a few hours and he still hadn’t come back to bed. He must really be upset with me.
I mean I guess he should be. I just ruined our whole mates with benefits thing. The very first rule was that we do not involve feelings with this. But my dumb ass says that I love him.
After I had no more tears left inside of me. I sat up and climbed off the bed then walked into the bathroom. I washed my face, trying to get rid of the tear stains. I was successful with removing most of the tear marks, but my eyes remained red and puffy and my face still flushed.
I sighed and walked out of the bathroom and back into the bedroom. I saw my shoes sitting on the side of the bed and quickly pulled them on. I left the room, shutting the door behind me.
I waked down the steps and Nolan’s scent wafted over me. I could tell that he was in the kitchen. I was about to walk in there but I stopped myself. Instead, I walked into the living room to the couch where my bag was. I grabbed my phone out and quickly dialed Lexi’s number, hoping that she was awake.
“Hello?” she answered.
“Hey Lexi.”
“Hey, what’s up?”
“Nothing, I uh, I just wanted to know if you could come pick me up from somewhere.”
“Em it’s like 12 am. Where are you?”
“At uhm, Nolan’s house.”
She giggled, “Oh, what was going on there?”
“Nothing Lexi, can you just come pick me up please?”
“Yeah sure, I’ll be there in like 20.”
“Ok, thanks.”
“Yeah, yeah, you owe me.” she said before hanging up.
I hung up and dropped my phone back into the bag and sighed.
