I had no clue who Stacey was, but I was going to her party anyway. I was in high school now. I had to start making friends and being social. It was time for me to change.
Stacey lived only three blocks away. I decided to sneak out the back door of my house when no one was looking. I had to wait for the perfect timing.
The time came only seven minutes later. My mom was in the bathroom, my dad who had just got home from work was in his room changing out of his dressy clothes, and Taylor and Josh were both in their bedrooms. I shut my door behind me and left the walking dead on my tv with the volume turned up so my parents would think I was in there.
I crept down the stairs as slowly as possible and then tiptoed across my kitchen. I opened the sliding back door just a crack and slipped through. I had a slim figure so I knew I would be able to do that without a problem.
I had my phone on low brightness, just enough so that I could still see the screen.
I made my way across my lawn and hopped the fence without any trouble. I then started walking down streets, one after another, following the directions on google maps.
I finally got there fifteen minutes later. The house was a two story, with red brick. Loud music seemed to be shaking the house. Nobody was outside.
I began to take steps up the driveway. I hesitated when I reached the porch. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea. I'd be in so much trouble if my parents found out. I had never been to a party with high schoolers that I didn't know, either. What if I didn't fit in? I was a good girl. Maybe I didn't belong there.
And on top of it, it was a Tuesday night. I had school the next day. Chances are I wouldn't even know anyone here.
I finally gave up with my negatives and went inside the house. The loud music was blowing my eardrums. This was ridiculous. There were hundreds upon hundreds of people there, taking up every inch of space.
I pushed my way through a flood of high schoolers, most drunk on vodka and scotch. I could smell it on their breath.
I spotted a tall, lanky girl with jet black hair and four nose piercings. She looked goth. Her eyes were shadowed by thick black eyeliner and her skin was quite pale. Chains hung from her silver belt, and her leggings were ripped and she had a see-through black lace shirt on.
She had six people talking with her. They all looked like her. Goth, possibly emo as well. I noticed they were calling her Stacey.
I shook my head. What was I doing, attending a party at a goth girl's house with a bunch of drunk high schoolers?
And it occurred to me that I didn't know who Niall, the guy who had texted me, even was. I had no idea. And I had never given him my number... how did he get it? The only person I had given my number to was Liam.
Liam. What if he was at the party? I'd stay, if he was. I had to look for him. I started to make my way into the large great room where most of the partiers were located. I assumed, since Liam was popular, that he might be there.
I heard a couple people singing karaoke coming from gigantic speakers on some type of stage in the back end of the room. Liam was up there, along with a couple of other boys I didn't recognize. He and the other guys were singing the song Give Me Everything by Pitbull. That was one of my favorite songs.
I stood there awkwardly, leaning against a wall not knowing what to do.
I decided on waiting until the song was over and then I'd go say hi to him.
I drummed my fingers against the wall as I waited. My eyes wandered all over the room. I thought about my family, and if they had found out that I had snuck out. I hoped they hadn't. I would be grounded for life, no joke.
