"Oh hey...thanks," you said, your cheeks blushing profusely.
"I'm Finn. Your accent... British, right?" he smiled, adorably.
"Yeah. Most people normally get that wrong! I'm Aisha, by the way." I laughed, your eyes now in direct contact with each other.
"You must be professional or something, these are amazing. You'll have to give me lessons or something-"
"Finn! What are you doingggggg-" A gingery-brown haired boy paraded in, and stopped in the middle of his sentence as he was speaking;
"So, Finn," He said with a smirk, "WhoOoOo's this?"
"Just-just a new friend. Stop smirking Josh! Come look at her work, it's amazing."
Finn glared at him, whilst Josh laughed it off and strolled over to me;
"Hey, Im Josh. Joooosh Kennedy. You're Aisha, right? Miss Ophelia just informed me of a so-called new student. I love your accent!"
"Thanks! It's nice to meet you."
RR-RING!!!
The bell went off, indicating the end of lesson.
"Well, it was really nice meeting you guys, but I'd better get to next period."
"Yeah, well, see you round."
Josh mumbled something i couldn't make out, under his breath, grinning.
"Right-Thats it. Bye Aisha!" and he rushed out, dragging with him a cackling Josh, and me giggling silently. Maybe this place wasn't as bad as I thought.
For my next 2 lessons, I had English Lit which was fairly okay and people were, as usual, awkwardly silent, but nice enough. Then I had Religious Education, and before I knew it, the school day was finally over. I went and left my textbooks in my locker, and walked out of school. Because I'd only recently moved here, I had to make my own way home as we didn't have a car yet at home.
"Hey." someone nudged me.
I turned around to see Finn, alongside me.
"Hey!" I responded, trying to seem as unbothered as possible, "Whats up?"
"Sorry if I caught you off-guard. Do you, uh, mind if I walk home with you or something?" He smiled sheepishly.
"Sure, it'll be nice to have some company." I grinned, baring my teeth awkwardly. I succeed at making myself look like an idiot. Honestly.
There was the pretty evident presence of an awkward silence, which lingered for a second too long, as we both tried to break the silence and blurted out nonsense.
"Sorry. I've got a totally random idea. Play 21 Questions with me?" said Finn.
I instantly nodded, desperate to be rid of the awkward silence.
"I'll take 1st go. Lets see........."
