Chapter 1    Meet Vivienne

Have you ever just wanted to punch something for no reason at all? Well that’s how I feel right now except I have a reason and it is simple. I HATE MY LIFE! Every little thing that I do I somehow fuck it up. Like right now. I’m cleaning up broken glass and water. Why because the glass slipped through my hands and fell to the floor breaking into many pieces. I can’t even get a glass of water without fucking it up somehow. Why does life have to be so complicated? I know why! Because everyone hates me. Even my ex-best friend hates me. You might wonder why we aren’t friends anymore but that is for a story later on down the road.

I got off my hands and knees and picked up the dustpan of broken glass and threw it into the garbage bin. Grabbing my keys and school bag I walked out of the house. School wasn’t that far from my house and it looked nice enough outside that I decided that I was going to walk.

Bad mistake!

Not even five minutes from my house and some idiot, well just not any idiot but my ex-best friend Jared, splashed me with mud! Ugh! Could this day get any worse?

I stormed back to my house all wet and muddy. I ran up to my room and started the shower. I stripped of my clothes and jumped in. I guess I’m going to be late for school again today.

You might be wondering where my parents are and why I haven’t been caught yet. Well my parents are on a free around the world trip. My dad’s work is having him move to different places in the world and film them for a boring documentary. My mom went with him and they left me home in charge of the house. They thought that I was responsible. Ha! I can’t even get a glass of water without screwing up how they expect me to watch the house. It’s a simple answer. I’m their only child and they trusted me. I don’t know why they trust me but they do. I have broken their trust multiple times.

I finished showering and turned the water off. I got out and dried off. As I was blowing drying my hair there was a knock at the door. I turned my blow dryer off and grabbed my oversize sweatshirt off my bed and pulled on the pajama shorts that were on the ground and ran downstairs. I opened the door and my jaw practically dropped to the ground. Right in front of me stood Santa Clause! Ha-ha I’m very funny! No Santa Claus wasn’t standing in front of me but it was close it was Jared my ex-best friend. Never thought in a million years he would be standing in front of me.

“What do you want?” I asked keeping a blank face and my voice cold.

“What I don’t even get a smile?” he asked sarcastically.

“No,” I simply stated. There has to be a reason why Jared would want to come to my house.

Jared looked at the ground and had a guilty look on his face. I thought maybe he might be apologizing for what happened between us, “Vivienne I just wanted to say,” Jared paused and pulled out a can of silly string and sprayed me in the face, “I hate you still and so does everyone else!”

Jared ran away laughing. I whipped the string off my face and ran after him shouting, “Fuck you Jared Hernandez!”

After Jared jumped into his brother Matt’s car and sped off, I went back into my house and finished getting ready for school.

I was done getting ready in half an hour and was driving the short way to school. I parked my car and walked into the high school. As I was walking to my locker I bumped into someone. I looked up. Just my luck! It was the devil himself, my principle and he looked pissed.

“Nice of you to finally show up Miss. Clare. I will see you in detention after school,” Mr. Johnson wrought me a detention slip and handed it to me.
