"polo!" i call out no answer.
"polo!" i call out once more. nothing.
shit. he must've gotten out again. this fucking cat, i swear. i head to the front door and groan when i see that i left it open. he most definitely snuck out. that sneaky bastard. i head out into the hallway. he couldn't have left the floor because the stairs are blocked by some heavy ass door and obviously he couldn't have gone into the elevator by himself. loud music was booming from the apartment at the end of the hall, and of course, the door was wide open. that little booger must've went there. i groan and make my way into the strangers apartment without a second thought. immediately i went to work and begun my search for my cat. i tried to shout over the loud music.
"polo!"
as i shouted, i looked around the floor for the small black feline. it of course didn't help that there were strobe lights, making it almost impossible to catch him.
"polo!"
"marco!" a voice called back.
i chuckled, realizing what it must've sounded like but continued my search.
"polo!"
"marco!"
"polo!"
"marco!"
"polo!"
"marco!"
ugh.
"polo!"
"marco!"
okay. ha ha. i get it. it was funny the first three times now this idiot needs to shut the hell up so i can find my polo. but because it seems like the universe doesn't want me to find my precious cat, i felt a tap on my shoulder. i turn around with a raised eyebrow to meet a petite woman with a wide smile.
"found you!" she shouted over the music.
obviously realizing i was confused, she explained herself. "you're polo."
"oh, yeah. i'm actually looking for my cat, so if you could quit doing that." i said with -i must admit a lot of attitude.
"well, that's a nice way of talking to the host of this party." she laughed dryly.
"well, let me just find my cat and i'll gladly leave you and your party."
"hey-" i turn around before she could finish and barely see a small black blob move across the floor.
i gasp and go after it. but after minutes of roaming around in what seemed like circles, it led to nothing. tired, i let out a huff. a hand rested itself on my shoulder. annoyed, i turned around only to squeal and internally praise jesus for bringing my cat back. because, behind me was the girl from before holding the one and only, polo.
grabbing him from her arms, i hugged my cat and pressed kisses all over the back of his neck but not without a fight from him. smiling, i looked up and let out an abundant amount of thank you's for the stranger.
"where'd you find him?"
"he was by my fishbowl, i'm pretty sure he was about to eat them."
"oh, buddy." i sighed, looking down at the little troublemaker. "i'm so sorry but thanks again. i'll leave now."
"oh, well," she smiled, shyly. "i was actually thinking you should stay. maybe we could get to know each other or something. i don't know, it's up to you."
"uh, thanks but i think i'm just gonna head home." she nods and as i was about to leave, she calls out to me.
"wait!" looking at her with my eyebrows raised she visibly gulps before speaking. "can i at least get your name?"
i take a moment to really look at her. with a bright smile and messy but cute hair, she sported a big choker with an oversized white shirt that reached mid-thigh and read 'resist' along with fishnet stockings. overall, she looked fucking hot. and how i didn't notice it before was unbelievable.
"y/n," you smirk.
"camila," she smiled back.
"well, camila, i'll let you get back to your party."
"see you around, y/n."
i nod and turn on my heels and snake my way through the crowd of people and back out into the hallway. oh, camila, we will most definitely see each other again.
