Stranger at the mall

The city was densely occupied most people being of the high social class.The trees were few and skyscrapers rose to infinity.It was the heart of gambling, the epicenter of the county's economy,this was Los Angeles.
The footpath was filled like an ant's harvest trail and you could easily see Velamma's hair among the many.The harsh rays of the sun came down and temperatures were higher as usual.

The Ney mall was one thing that would make you fall in love with architecture, modest design and a stinking smell of dollar bills hit one's face at the entrance.
She went to the grocery part and did her assortment.
"Kriiiiiiing.."her phone rang and she picked it up,it was Jared.
"Hello Jared"
"Hello baby, how are you?"
"I'm fine just doing some shopping,aren't you supposed to be in the middle of a case"
"Exactly why I called,there was an issue with the evidence of my client and we had to take a chopper to Vegas to fill up the gaps,I may not make it today,tomorrow perhaps"
"Oh!It's okay,take care darling"
"Great,bye,love you"
"Love you too"
She wore a smile on her face as she thought of what she was to do that night to keep herself busy.
"Velamma?" "Is it really you?"said a voice on the other side of the grocery stand.
She lifted her face and came to contact with this black guy,his eyes were a sparkle and a clear picture of one committed to the gym.
"Do I know you?"she replied with haste.
"You don't remember Aden, your college deskmate"
"Gosh! Aden" she said resting for a hug.
"I'm sorry but you've just changed a lot since we last met"
"Haha,I know Velamma, time works miracles,you've also changed,mmh but not that much."

She couldn't set her eyes of this guy.It seemed to her he was sent to get her and here she was,too perplexed to speak.Her eyes raced from his hair to his sneakers and back up,just about to make another run down the fiery body,Aden interrupted.
"Uuhm Velamma,are you okay?"
Coming back to reality"Oh yes just lost in thought."
Contacts were exchanged and Velamma invited him over for dinner that night after giving him the address.

"I'll be right on time,see you tonight pretty face"he said winking at her as he strode towards the exist.

"Wait!What?,did I just invite another guy to my house,my husband being away."
She was lost in thought once more,should she cancel the invitation before it was too late?

"Maybe I should just gather some courage like a real woman and make the night a success"she said to herself softly.

"But what if Jared found out from a neighbour, how would he react?But he's just a friend and a get together won't be bad"she thought.
"Keep change,"she told the cashier as she took her shopping bag exiting the mall.

She was once again lost in the train of pedestrians on the foot path.

Sighs,"can't wait for tonight."
