two years later

"Hello, Grant? I'll be there soon. Be there in an hour." And I hung up.

I grabbed the flowers and got off from my car. I walked around trying to find the tombstone.

When I saw a familiar one with a familiar name on it, I stopped in front of it.

"Hi, love." I said, "It's been awhile since mommy visited you. I missed you so much, honey. Every single day."

I tried to hold back my tears because I've been here for almost every day after the day my child was buried her and I thought I'm okay. I thought I accepted it. But then I thought, it is just my thoughts.

"Mommy's busy with Grant because we're preparing for a huge event and I dedicate this one to you. You were a big part of this project. I love you."

"Mommy loves you so much." Then tears fell down from my eyes.

"Mel?" I heard a familiar voice so I turned my head around, "Grant. How did you know I was here?"

"You always come here before an event and dedicate this to this angel." I smiled. I didn't realize that. Well, my child is indeed an angel. My angel.

"You shouldn't have come here. I was about to leave." I said, "It's fine. I've been dying to see you anyways."

I giggled, "Let's go?" He nodded and held my hand. "Grant.."

"Please, Mel. Just this once. Please." I didn't argue with him anymore. I don't want to upset him because his mood might affect how he handle the event later.

"We'll take your car. I'll tell Carlos to drive my car." He said and I agreed.

The whole car ride for some reason is silent. It is so silent that I could hear his heartbeat.

"Grant, I'm sorry." I apologized, "For what? You didn't do anything." He replies but his eyes are still glued on the road.

"You know what I'm talking about. You know that It is really hard for me to love again after that night. Just give me more time."

"Okay." He answered, "Grant, just promise me one thing."

"What is it?"

"Please never give up. Wait for me, okay?"

He looked at me, "You know I'll never give up on you and I'm waiting for you ever since we were in high school."

**
We entered the venue where the event is going to happen and we were greeted happily by our families and the CEO of this company, Jacob Smith.

"My lovely Editor-In-Chief!" Jacob greeted me with a big smile, "Hello there, my lovely boss."

He pulled me into a hug, "Two months since we last saw each other, am I right?" He asked and I nodded.

"Anyways, CEO's of some group companies are here. Would you like to meet them?"

"Oh, I would love to."

"Mister George Will! This is my best Editor-In-Chief, Miss Melissa Benoist. Melissa, Mister George Will of Baldrige Group of Companies." I extended my hand to him, "What a lovely lady. Shocked to see that there's no ring on your finger." I faked a smile. That was awkward.

"And this is Chris Wood from PGC, Parker Group of Companies."

My heart suddenly stopped beating. The world stopped spinning. He can't be here. He can't be.
