Violet

            The warm sun was just barley starting to break light on the darks sky. Streaks of purple and pink filled my bed room with a warm inviting feeling. I loved dawn it was my favorite time of day. It was right when the sky started to turn back to its usual blue color. It was a beautiful sight and I wish I could bask in it for the rest of my life.

            “Hey there snow.” The window to my right opened up. A smile spread across my face as not only for the nick name but because the person coming through the window was my best friend. Ben gave me that nick name when we were kids because I would watch snow white all the time when we were kids. He used to make fun of me for it.

            “You know I have a front door right?” I whispered at him.

            “I didn’t want wake your parents…” he trailed off. He knew that they were already awake, they were always awake at this hour and they would love to see him. They loved Ben like he was their son.

            That’s when the smell hit me. It was a strong sweet but sour smell that filled my room with the scent of smoke. It was sadly a very familiar scent and I hated it.“You were out selling again, weren’t you?” I hated that he had to do that for his lazy ass parents. “My parent would be more than willing to give your family money.”

            “Your family does enough for me. There is no point in making them do even more for me especially when I can provide for my family. Can I have my extra clothes?”

            I faked a smiled and searched through the left side draws for his t shirt and a pair of shorts to match. He was at my house all the time so my family decided just to get me a huge dresser so I could fit both our clothes.

            “Here,” I said handing him a blue vee neck shirt with a Hollister emblem and a pair of dark denim jeans.

            “Thanks.” He pulled of his old smelly shirt revealing nicely formed golden tanned eight pack this never fazed me we changed in front of each other all the time it didn’t even make me uncomfortable when he took off his pants a pulled in his fresh ones. This was just normal for us. We’ve known each other forever. I mean we haven’t ever been fully naked in front of each other but I’m sure that if we ever did get naked in front of each other it wouldn’t affect us.

            When Ben finished changing he took my hand and pulled me to my bed that was covered with blue silk sheets. He rested me up against his side and just held me facing my big bay windows and we watched as the sun came up brightly sparkling in the sky. This was our favorite activity, just watching the sun. It was the most beautiful star in sky. But the best part about it was that we didn’t have to talk to enjoy each other’s company we just laid in each others arms.

            “Violet let’s go!” My sister Melissa’s voice echoed through the whole house. “We have cheer practice this morning.”

            “Crap!” I quickly crawled over Ben and grabbed my cheer outfit from my draws before running to the bath room to brush my teeth and do other business. My fingers where busing themselves with my brown hair, trying to get it into the perfect pony tail when came behind me and started fixing my hair for me while I applied make up. He was good with this kind of stuff because he had three younger sisters. “God I hate cheer leading!”

            “Remind me again why you joined?”

            “Because my parents wanted me to make sure my sister was adapting to high school okay.” I told him while grabbing my bag and running down the stairs with him by my side.

            “She adapting alright.” He was right my sister was the “it” girl of our high school and she was only a freshman.

            Melissa squealed breaking off our conversation. “Oh Benny I didn’t know you stayed the night.” She started fixing her cheer workout clothes.

            “Hey Lisa. Good to see you.” His smiled revealed his pearly whites and made his green eyes sparkle. She saw him every day.

            She smiled seductively. My sister was known for her flirting and now she was hitting on my best friend who was a senior! “Let’s go!” She walked away shaking her butt.

            “That was gross.” I stuck I finger in my mouth.

            “No that was funny.” Ben took my key out of my hand as well as my bag and carried them out to the car. My sister was already in the front seat so I guess that meant that I got the back. She smiled at me and tossed her brown pony tail off her shoulder her matching brown eyes winked at me.

            “Oh boy.” I said to myself as I got into the car. Today was going to be a long day.

            Benjamin pulled up in front of our foot ball field. Girls where already on the ground stretching and all shouted their hellos as Melissa walked up to them and joining in on their pointless banter and stretches.

            “Are you going to watch us practice?” I asked Ben.

            “Duh…” I smiled as he checked out all the other cheer leaders.

            “You’re such a guy,” but I kissed him on the cheek anyways and got out of the car to join the other peppy girls loud shouting. When I turned around I saw a girl slap Ben across the face.
