Riley's Point of view
I woke up to an open window with a bright light flowing through. Even though I was exhausted from the night before, I still got up anyway. I got up out of my warm bed and headed towards the bathroom. I raced across the cold floor. I looked in the mirror to see that my hair was a mess. I thought about last night, I loved it whenever I went on a date with Trevor. Trevor and I met when we were 13. We started datinh about 4 months ago. Sadly, my daydream ended to my mother yelling "Riley, time to get ready for school."As I drifted back into reality, I started to get ready. I brushed my teeth and hair, then I got dressed in a pair of jeans and a blue tie-dye shirt. I quickly braided my hair, put on my shoes and went downstairs. I made a bowl of cereal and sat down at the table. My older sister Emma, was already at the table when I sat down. She always thinks she's better then me just because she's two years older. I'm 15 and she's 17. I came back to reality after my mother said "Are you excited for sixteenth birthday." I nodded and smiled. I asked my mom if everything was ready. She said it was. I got my stuff and put it all in my backpack. I said I love to my mom and walk out the door. It took me about ten minutes. I walked through the light blue doors into school. I tried to hurry to homeroom but there were so many people in the hall way that I could barely see the stairs. I made it to the stairs and gone straight to homeroom. I sat at my desk waiting for the day to start. As I'm waiting I hear happy birthday Riley coming from the front of the room. It was just my teacher, so I continued to stay in my seat. I heard the bell ring, so I hurried off to my language arts class. After about 10 minutes the teacher tells everyone to quiet down. Now she as she started rambling on about an upcoming test. I was tired of sitting in class so I asked to go to the bathroom. While in the hallway an announcement came over the speaker. The principle said "We are going into lockdown. Close all the windows and stay away from the door and windows." What do I do? Im in the middle of the hallway, the shooter will find me. Out of fear I quickly go into the bathroom and lock myself inside the last stall. I heard screaming and gun shots coming from the hallway. Tears start to roll down my face. I stop sobbing and get quiet as the sound of foot steps echo through the school. The foot steps get louder and then they just stopped. As if he were right in front of me.
