Chapter One

Writer's POV
Sitting in her cell, thinking of her life, Rose, an undergraduate of Unilorin (university of Ilorin), sat wondering if she could ever turn the clock back to right the wrongs she had done in her life.

Rose was born without a silver spoon in her mouth into the family of Mr and Mrs Akpan. She was a very intelligent and beautiful girl.

Mr Akpan made a living by working on other people's farms while Mrs Akpan assisted him by selling food items in the market. They always tried to provide for Rose and her siblings through the little earnings they made from their businesses.

Rose being a very intelligent girl always made her parents proud by passing her exams excellently and winning trophies and prizes for her school.

When she was in primary school, she became very popular among her mates because she participated in the school's spelling bee and came out the best.
Also, in secondary school, she became the school's head girl and made her family and school very proud too.

When it was time to write her WAEC examination, she made all her papers and finally got admission into the university of Ilorin to study Accounting. During this period, her parents made sure they worked harder than before so they could provide all she needed in the university.

Rose, Abigail, Nima and Chidinma became friends during the National Association of Accounting Students (NAAS) departmental orientation speech.

The head of department, Mr Joseph and other lecturers advised them to be committed to their books and informed them about the necessary things they needed to know about the  university.
