Chapter Two

In their first year in the university, Rose, Abigail, Nima and Chidinma became roommates and very good friends but Rose and Abigail were more than just good friends, they became the best of friends. They were very close to the point that they told each other their deepest secrets. Rose even told Abigail that she was still a virgin and that she was still keeping herself for her future husband and Abigail laughed about it.

One day, Rose went to the library to study. As she was trying to prepare for her upcoming exams, she didn't want any disturbance from anyone so she decided to stay in a secluded area and away from her friends though they were also in the library.

On the other hand, the 'latest bad boy' on campus, Dennis, came in and when he saw her, he was stunned by her beauty and decided to have her as his girlfriend so he went to meet Rose where she was reading.

"Hello babe! You're really pretty. I'm Dennis", he introduced himself.

"I'm Rose", she responded.

"it's nice meeting you, can we be acquaintances? I believe you can be a good friend and can also keep me company", he said.

Judging by the way Dennis was dressed and the way he talked, one could tell Rose wasn't impressed and didn't want to be his friend.

"you are stupid!", she shouted, "I'm not ready to become your friend, let alone keep you company", she added.

"hold it!, we aren't quarreling babe ", he said looking surprised.

"And so what?!!", she replied angrily and started walking away.

Dennis tried to stop her by holding her hand but she quickly withdrew her hand and gave him the hottest slap of his life which drew the attention of all the students in the library. Dennis was speechless and couldn't close his mouth.

Words finally came to his mouth and he said angrily "you slapped me?"

"Yes i did, and if you don't walk out of here, I'll slap you again", she replied.

Dennis was really surprised because no one in the school ever dared to slap him or even talk to him rudely. Every girl was at his beck and call. He decided to teach her a lesson and walked out of the library in humiliation. Abigail who had been watching all the drama unfold from a distance came out to meet rose and pulled her back to the hostel.

Back at the hostel, Abigail reprimanded Rose for speaking rudely and slapping Dennis.

"But babe you shouldn't have done that na", Abigail said.

"Girl, he tried to touch me and you know i don't like that", Rose replied.

"Yes, i know you don't like that, but at least you should have controlled yourself and considered the environment you were in", Abigail said.

"Yeah, i know. I'm sorry" Rose said.

"Alright, let's go get something to eat",Abigail suggested.

"yeah, that's true, I'm really hungry and my stomach is already talking", Rose replied and they laughed while exiting the room and headed for the canteen.
