Lost Dreams [On Hold]

Chapter Three

Writer's POV.
"Immediately after this you can introduce her to the business. You know she wouldn't be able to resist it because she comes from a poor home and her parents are finding it difficult to keep up with the payment of her school fees", Dennis said smirking.

"Yes that's true. She always Boasts about being a virgin and a child of God too. Uhhgh, I'm tired of hearing that every time. We must teach her a lesson.", Abigail said.

"You remember the plan, right?", Dennis asked.

"Yeah I do", she replied. Apparently, they had been friends before Rose met Abigail.

After the conversation Abigail had with Dennis, she headed back to the hostel and found Rose reading.

"wow, you're really serious. I left you reading and I came back to meet you still reading", Abigail said jokingly.

"you're really funny, you know I must take my studies serious because of my parents. They are paying through their noses to send me to school for Goodness's sake!",Rose replied instantly raising her voice.

"Hey, take its easy. I know about your situation but at least you should go out sometimes to enjoy yourself. Trust me it feels good",Abigail said.

"yes madam", Rose replied laughing.

"hmm, you are saying yes madam but I know you, you won't go out so I'm inviting as my plus one to a friend's birthday party this Saturday. It's gonna be fun",Abigail suggested.

"hahaha",Rose laughed sarcastically. "You of all people should know I don't like parties, especially the ones held at night. Anyways, I'm not coming. You can go with chidinma or one of your numerous friends because I'm sure Nima would never go with you",she added.

"What? No, that one would not go. You know she's our Alhaja",Abigail said laughing.

"you must be there, you need to come out and enjoy yourself. Besides, it's only for a night. After then, you can continue to lock up yourself in the room",she added.

"no, I'm not attending the party",Rose said.

"please", Abigail pleaded.

"fine, I'll attend it",Rose said.

"yesss!!",Abigail screamed happily.

Finally Rose had agreed to go after much persuasion. Then Abigail left the room to inform Dennis.

After some minutes, Mrs Akpan called "hello mum, how have you been? And the family? I've really missed you guys a lot.",Rose asked.

"We are fine and you?",her mum asked.

"I'm fine too",Rose replied.

"well, I called because I had a strange feeling towards you. Please be very careful my dear. I wouldn't want anything bad to come your way",Mrs Akpan said.

"Ah,mum. You have started with your strange feelings again. I'm doing well here and nothing bad would happen to me because the security here is very tight",Rose said.

"Very well my dear, just be careful",Mrs Akpan said.

"My regards to father and my siblings. Tell them I love them very much",Rose said.

"Alright my dear, I have to go to the market now. I'll talk to you later. Bye", Mrs Akpan said.

"Bye mum", Rose said and ended the call.

The night of the party came and Abigail made sure Rose looked her best. When they got to the party, Rose saw the crowd and immediately wanted to leave but Abigail pleaded with her to stay and she agreed. Dennis offered them a place to sit and they agreed. Rose settled in and studied her environment carefully. She was feeling thirsty so she decided to grab a drink.

On her way there, she heard two boys talking in vernacular (a normal way for Nigerians to speak bad English).

"omo this party go mad ehn!",the fair skinned guy said.

"I swear, Vincent, yes o. I couldn't have missed this for nothing", the dark skinned guy said.

"Ah, George. You and party sha, hope you haven't forgotten our plan this night?", Vincent asked.

"No, I haven't jare, I can't wait oo", George said shaking his head and then raked his hair with his hand.

Meanwhile, Rose who had been eavesdropping on their conversation was wondering what plan they had made. Maybe it's a surprise for the celebrant, she thought to herself and walked back to her table after she had gotten her drink. She consumed half of her drink and suddenly felt the urge to use the restoom.

Unknown to her, a substance was added to her drink by Abigail. When she came from the restroom, the consumed her drink completely. She felt a difference in the taste of the drink but she didn't complain and oblivious to her, Abigail was smiling.

Suddenly, she started feeling drowsy and wanted to leave. She left for her hostel room with Abigail and Abigail gave Dennis and his friends the signal to follow suit. When they got to the hostel, Abigail excused herself to go talk to the boys outside. She told them to go inside with her.

When Rose saw Dennis with her, she tried to stand up but she was too weak. Suddenly, they pounced on her, tore her clothes and raped her. She tried to scream but her voice was too low due to the effect of the substance added to her drink. She cried and eventually fainted after they had their way with her.

Abigail who had been watching everything happen, laughed and said "well done guys, this is a job well done. I'll see how she would keep boasting now, stupid girl".

Then she gave Rose's clothes to the boys to keep with them and they left.
