Aiyanna Pov:
For the majority of the class period, I stayed in and out. I did the work and took little notes here and there.
Throughout the class, there were whispers and comments about Ryan. The girls were practically eye raping him with their eyes, and some were even looking at me funny just because we were sitting together.
Looking at the clock, I started getting anxious waiting for the bell to ring.
Mr. Barnes stood up from his desk, and walked to the front of the classroom. "Before the bell rings, I want to give you all your project."
"Project?!", someone said from the back.
"Yes, a project. You guys will be partnered up with whom I'll choose. This project is due a week before graduation. You have to learn things about your partner, things like what you have in common, differences, and etc. Maybe you can even become friends. The paper that assigns your partner is on the board. You guys can go check it out when the bell rings." With that said he went back to his seat, the bell following suit.
Murmurs and groans filled the classroom as everyone got up. Nervous now to find out my partner, I walked up to the board.
Finally being able to get up there, I found my name. Moving my eyes to the name besides mine, my heart thumped a little faster. Ryan Miller.
How can I work with him, when he can't even acknowledge me. Let alone this whole things a mess. No one knows me and how I live, but Keira and Selena.
Reminding myself that I need to talk to Mr. Barnes about this, I exit the classroom and begin walking to gym.
Walking into gym, people were already changed, well the boys. They had already started a game of basketballs, while some of the girls decided to sit and watch, as usual.
"Yanna!!" hearing a familiar voice, I spotted my best friend Keira.
Keira was my best friend since I was 5. She has been there for me since I was a kid. She and Selena is the only one that knows everything about my situation. She has been the most caring person while I've been going through this. She takes me shopping and lends me clothes whenever. She even does my hair for free. Keira is just so fun and free-spirited. I love being around her and her voice is just so beautiful. I honestly don't know how she still stands to be my friend.
Sitting next to her, I gave her big hug.
"Omg Keira, you look fine today." She started posing and cheesing, showing off her deep dimples."Thank you girl, I try." she said playfully.
"Hey Bitches!" Hearing my annoying and loud best friend, I started to laugh.
Selena is a transgender. When we first started high school, she wasn't comfortable and was being bullied a lot. One day we found her in the library crying, and we comfort her, letting her know that she was an amazing person. Ever since then, we've been rocking.
Giving each of us a kiss on the cheek, we all sat down and chatted.
"Girl, I know y'all heard of the fine ass new kid everybody been talking about." Selena said fanning herself.
"Yeah, but I haven't seen him yet. But by the way your thirsty ass acting, he better be cute." Keira said rolling her eyes.
"Me and him have the same first period, and not only that we got assigned as partners for this stupid project. We have to get to know each other before the end of graduation. I tried introducing myself to him, but he just ignored me." I said getting a bit frustrated. I wondered how he felt about this.
"Ion know why you so uptight about it, y'all can get to know each other on even more personal level as well, lord knows you need some." Selena said pinching my side.
Kiera laughed as I blushed, "Leave my little innocent child alone. But how you going to work with him, with that sorry excuse of a man don't let nobody in that house." I wasn't about to let anyone, let alone a boy, get that close.
"I don't know."
