"Next time, I'm picking somewhere to eat" Naomi said as we walk into the Country Club.
"Ladies, the chicken caesar salad here is really good" I say and they start laughing.
"Jo, come on and be honest. You always pick this spot to see Eric working" Sawyer smiles.
"That is not true" I roll my eyes as the host walks up to us.
"Josephina party of three? Right this way" she says and we follow her to our booth. This is one of the most popular country clubs here in my city. I've been coming here since I was a child with my parents. All of us students were coming off of winter break here at Yale University and it felt good to be back on campus.
"Josephina?" someone says and I turn around to see a guy standing up from the table he was sitting at. I stare at him confused trying to make out his face. "You really don't remember me?" he asked smiling and it hit me.
"Jenson?" I manage to say and he laughs.
"Yes"
"Wow! Hi, I'm sorry I didn't recognize you. You look so different" I say hugging him. Jenson was a year older than me and he went to another University here in Connecticut. The only reason I know him is because he use to date my older sister Brielle.
"You're fine" he laughs and I turn around to look at the girls.
"I'll catch up with you ladies in a minute" I said and they smile and walk away. I turn my attention back to Jenson.
"How are you?" he ask.
"I'm doing good, junior year almost over so I'm excited! How are you? I didn't even know you were back"
"I'm good and yea just visiting the family before I head home to Wesleyan" he smiles.
"Sounds ideal" I smile and looked over at the people that were staring at us from his table.
"Oh! Everyone this is Josephina, she's Brielle's little sister and Jo these are my parents. Then you remember my younger siblings, Lucy and Dave right?"
"Yes I do, hi-" I start to say before I was cut off.
"LOOK AT THE BRADY BUNCH!" someone yells and we look over to see a guy wearing a black leather jacket, a ripped blue shirt and dark black jeans. I couldn't tell if they were freckles or moles but it honestly look like someone took a paint brush and just flung them to his face to make a splatter effect. This guy with his dark brown, messy hair look like he was in the wrong place.
"Dylan, lower your voice" Jenson's dad scolded.
"Josephina, I don't know if you know, but this is my older brother... Dylan" Jenson said introducing the loud, obnoxious guy. He looks at me then smirks and looks back at his family. Their mom stares at Dylan in a disappointing way and I felt like that was my cue to go.
"I should get back to my friends" I said when Dylan sweeps pass me to sit down next to his sister. Dylan smelled like a new bar of soap and a couple of squirts of cologne. I would expect him to smell like drugs and alcohol the way he was dressed.
"Yea of course, we should catch up sometime"
"Yea just text me or something" I smile.
"Yea just text me or something" someone says in a sarcastic tone and I look over at Dylan. He was mocking me and I felt disrespected. He laughs after and looks at me.
"Dylan, come on stop" Jenson said.
"Are we eating or what?" he says completely ignoring Jenson.
