They all looked at the dragon as it let out it's mighty shriek. The beast settled itself on top of one of the largest buildings in the city. "Listen up Grandpa, you might want to step back" Tobey said as he put his arm in front of the old man.

"Respect your elders sonny." Grandpa said this as he reached for his belt quickly threw it off and watched as it turned it a whip that looked very sturdy.

"How the heck?" Jerry asked Grandpa.

"Just because I'm old doesn't mean I'm useless sonny."

Tobey studied his small team as Phoenix yelled "CHARGE!!!"

Tobey then took off with the rest of his group. As they ran Tobey felt a burst of energy, of excitement, of adrenaline pumping through him as he ran alongside his companions. As they drew nearer the dragon finally noticed them and then started speaking to the group in it's deep gravely voice.

"You mortals think you can defeat me?" The dragon said as he stared at them amused before giving them a slight laugh.

Then Tobey noticed a what might have been a figure on top of the dragon but because of the distance he wasn't sure. Then all of a sudden the dragon exhaled a large ball of flames at the group when Phoenix ran past the others and jumped up and hit the ball back with his own flames. The dragon slapped the flames out the way like it was nothing. Then the dragon disregarded the team for a minute and knocked over a couple buildings. "How are we going to get on top of that building to fight the dragon?" Jerry questioned Grandpa.

All Grandpa did was give a little chuckle confusing Jerry. Then Phoenix told Jerry ,"Fire your weapon Jerry, the bullets might reach it."

Jerry did as told and lifted up his gun and started shooting rapidly as the group stopped running. All it did was made the dragon angrier as it let out another roar. Then as Tobey squinted he noticed the figure again but this time it started to get off the dragon and threw a ball of ice at the party. Tobey guessed it must have been a mage of sorts as the ball of ice was as large as the fire from the dragon. Then the figure started floating and flew over to the team.

"What is this group of misfits doing trying to stop me? This is part of my domain now." The figure said as they removed a hood revealing a woman with a strange face that for sure couldn't have been human.

"Now if you wish to live, you kids better Acura away." She said with a slight laugh.

Tobey stepped up to the woman and said, "Who are you and what gives you permission to start attacking innocents?"

She laughed at his words. "Innocents? Are you trying to play hero young man? You crack me up. Now you take your family or whatever and just leave, ok?"

Grandpa took his turn by saying, "You oughta respect your elders when I say this, and listen clearly, you better take your pet over there and find a new spot to play."

"Do you know who I am? I am a sorceress able to take down your whole city with only one small spell old man."

Then as she turned around and started going to her dragon, the ground shook. The shaking was all too familiar yet it felt different at the same time. Tobey looked around and noticed a small army of shadows walking toward the city. The rumbling even startled the female figure. These weren't the same as before as these seemed more human sized and shaped than the last brute of a shadow.

"Did you bring this army to stop me?" The woman asked the group as they all shook their heads.

She clearly had a bit of confusion and possibly a small hint of worry in her voice. She went over to the dragon and hopped aboard. While she shouted, "This isn't my army or yours but I'm still taking over the city!"

Phoenix got angry and blurted out, "GREAT! NOW THERE IS MORE THAN ONE ENEMY!"

Phoenix started throwing balls of fire at both groups of enemies. Jerry got confused and started shooting and shouting "AHHHH!!!"

Grandpa started whipping the shadows as they got close. One by one the army fell just for more and more to come and attack, still with the dragon threat among them. They were outnumbered so much that they couldn't stop both threats. Then Jerry started throwing grenades and when the smoke cleared. They saw the shadows were gone only to be replaced soon with a new army every time.

"We can't do this!" Tobey shouted.

Phoenix gave a reply. "This might be it sadly."

Then Grandpa took his whip and turned it into a cane which he raised to the sky and lightning struck the tip. He seemed unaffected by the lightning bolt. The he charged up and point the seemingly harmless object at the dragon shooting a massive amount of electricity at the dragon knocking it down for who knows how long giving the team a while to work on the Shadow army.

Then Phoenix ran over to the dragon which Tobey assumed was only to finish it off while they kept the army at bay surprisingly. Then Grandpa started losing balance and said, "That drained too much energy. I can't continue right now."

Then he fell down as Jerry caught him and laid him down. Now it was three versus an army. They didn't stand a chance a second ago and this time they knew they would lose for sure. Draco kept slicing enemies like a knife through butter. Though it wasn't enough to stop them from attacking.

Then with all the confusion already happening Tobey noticed the dragon getting itself up barely hurt by the lightning. After that time felt as if it stopped and as Tobey looked at all the chaos he let out a piercing war cry and ran into the crowds of shadows ripping through them, and watching them slowly fall as he rushed to the dragon seeing it throw Phoenix back, he lifted his blade and ran at speeds he could only imagine and as he got closer to his target his blade grew bigger and brighter into a blinding blade as bright as the sun and jumped up and wound up his blade ready to throw it with only two words repeating over and over again in his mind he shouted them out as he released the sword aiming directly into the heart of the dragon, "SOLAR BLADE!"

Then time sped back up as he landed on the ground watching the blade hit the dragon right where he aimed and right as the blade landed a large blast of blinding light shot out in a large area. The light slowly faded as time sped faster as everything went black and he passed out.

As Tobey slowly woke up he was in a room laying on a bed. He took a few tries but he opened his eyes and saw Phoenix sitting there. When Phoenix saw Tobey was awake he stood up and said, "Finally your awake sleepy head. You alright? Need anything to eat?"

Tobey couldn't muster much strength but he could shake his head implying he didn't need food. Phoenix told Tobey about what he did as he only remembered it as one big blur. "You threw your sword at the dragon with some kind of power that made a huge blinding light the size of a few bombs strapped together. Then you fainted. You managed to kill the dragon and the light you made was enough to let us finish off the shadows without more attacking us. Your a real hero now, good job."

Then Phoenix walked out the room into a hallway stopping for a sec. "Tell me if you need anything."

Then Phoenix left the room. Tobey sat there trying to understand how he did that feat. He was confused and everything was blurry. Only one thing was clear, he knew now that he could finally defend himself.
