CHAPTER 1:
There are two things I hate more than anything else: wasting money and getting caught in the middle of other people's drama.
This wasn't supposed to happen. I shouldn't have been staring up into her eyes, choking on my own blood. I shouldn't have spent my last ten bucks on a cab ride when I could've caught the bus for less than two. And above all else, I shouldn't have gone to the park in the middle of the night after a burst of outrage. But all of that was in the past and at the rate I was losing blood, there was a slim to non-existent chance a future was ahead of me.
Perhaps I should start from the beginning, back when life was ignorant bliss and I didn't know about the monsters lurking in the shadows. Before the massacre of everyone who ever mattered to me, or how I came to such a pathetic end. Falling over a railing was not how I had seen myself being taken out, yet there I was seeing red at the corner of my vision. Dying is strange to be honest. I couldn't really feel anything but a dull throbbing in my shoulder. Other than that, I just felt the serious need to get some shut eye. If I just closed my eyes everything would be fine because I was just suddenly so tired and needed a good nap. Then I would wake up and everything would be fine.
But everything wouldn't be fine. I was going to die and no one would be able to save me this time. . .
