I nudged Dani. "You've got to do this. It's now, or never."
Dani gulped. She looked at me and smiled nervously. She seemed as if she wasn't sure about what she had to do. She sighed wearily, "I don't think I can do this."
Please, Dani. Of all times, you choose to act up now?! I bit my lip and frowned. There was simply no time to hesitate. Jumping up and down, tears streamed down my cheeks. "I'll do this with you. Together. Please, Dani..." My voice trailed off as I hugged Dani tightly while staining her clothes with tears of pure agitation and worry.
She blinked once. Twice. Three times. And then she sighed and nodded while trying to avoid eye contact. A bright smile appeared on my cold face. I held her hand. Our hands were so numb from the cold that we couldn't even feel each other, but somehow I felt a surge of courage. We were facing this together.
