I was just like any other teenager. Adventurous. Sassy. Slightly rebellious. I begged my mom for an iPhone, and got a classy cover for it with my pocket money, just like everyone else. I had shocking pink addidas shirts and neon yellow Nike sport shoes, just like everyone else. I listened to Charlie Puth, Ed Sheeran and Ariana Grande's songs, just like everyone else.

In other words, I was ordinary. Just like everyone else.

My life was very routinely. Wake up. Brush teeth. Get dressed. Eat breakfast. Glance at my watch. Realise that I would be late, and run to school. Arrive just on time. Open my textbook. Teacher rambles. I kinda listen. Break time. Cassie shares her snacks with me. Back to class. I daydream a bit. Lunchtime, I eat with Cassie. Bell rings, school is over. Walk home. Settle down. Finish annoying homework. Scroll instagram. Eat dinner. Mom complains about random cracks in my bedroom wall. I ignore it. Pack my bag. Change into pyjamas. Sleep.

I know, my life was absolutely cliche. Well, it was not my fault. For such a normal person, it was literally impossible to change my normal lifestyle.

Well, frankly, my life was totally fine. Fresh food was brought to my table every day. I had loving parents. Friends came over to my house during Christmas. My grades were, in fact, better than anyone imagined. Yes, my life was boring and repetitive, but with all that I had, I should have been very contented.

I should have been.

Don't start thinking that I am ungrateful. I love my parents, and thank them for all that they have done for me. I feel blessed that I have awesome friends. I acknowledge that my life was way better than others.

Yet there was something missing. Deep down, I was yearning for something. But I just didn't know what it was.
