I stepped inside the bus and looked around. I saw anxiety and distress in the faces of most people. They too were now trying to live their lives as they had before, but that still never took the truth away. They were trying though, to trust the ARC and go back to their normal lives. But anything the government said couldn't take away their fear. The fear that the world was actually going to end.

Many things had happened over the last few months. The moon showed signs of falling apart. That was the first event that let civilians find out. It was followed buy a massive wave hitting almost all the coasts. Millions of lives were lost. The government though unwilling was forced to tell us what was happening. They claimed that the world was going to end and the moon had broken down and now soon it would be the earth. There was no information about what or who was causing this. But they claimed that they were doing everything in their power to keep the people safe from the apocalypse, but they forgot the fact that we had to be safe from each other. It wasn't long before crime spread across the world. There were forced entries, robberies, murders and the list went on. Humans killed more of themselves than the tsunami did. That was when the Apocalypse Rescue Council took power over the whole world. The leaders of the world came together. Those who refused were forced to obey or locked away.

After they took control and enforced the new emergency laws , all the crime rates decreased by 60%. They requested us to get back to our early livelihood and promised us that they would save humanity. But they had confirmed that within a year the earth would be no more. It's been a month since ARC gained control.
They had asked the schools to be resumed with the remaining number of students.

And so here I was in an unfamiliar bus with unfamiliar people trying to cope up with the new unfamiliar atmosphere. Everyone's life had changed. Everyone had lost people close to them. Everybody was messed up. The world was not the same anymore. Hell, the world is never going to be the same ever again. No one had ever expected this to happen this soon, not in the 21st Century for sure. They didn't tell us why. But it just did. And that changed everyone's life including mine.

But all this confusion brought to me someone who changed me much more than anything. Someone I never expected to. Someone who got in to the bus after I did.
