Things that lie in the dark

Robins and crows,
Bats and sparrows,
Struck down by a green arrow,
Laughter of children turn to cries,
Parents plead out their final goodbyes,
5,6,7,8
Ravens lay grieving by concrete plates,
A beast in the dark snuffed out by the light,
Maybe one day nights wing will take flight,
When day comes all things must cease to exist,
One day we'll see his reign come to an end.
