I Look At David And I See He Is Watching TV. We Have Been Distant Lately Because I Have Been Hiding A Secret. I Might End Up Getting Recruited Into The Army Or Military.
I Don't Want Him To Find Out And End Up Worried About Me. A Knock On The Door Gets Me Out Of My Thoughts. I Go And I Answer. "Liza Koshy" He Says. "That's Me" I Say.
He Has Me Sign And Hands Me A Small Package. "Thanks" I Say. I Go To The Kitchen And Open It Up. I Read The Letter To See It's From The Army.
I Read It And Find Out I Got Accepted. I Set The Letter Down And Look To See A Uniform In The Box.
I Slowly Take It Out And A Tear Goes Down My Face. I See David Look At Me. "Liza, You Ok?" He Asks. I Shake My Head No. He Goes To Me And Sees The Letter And Uniform.
"What's This?" He Asks. "They Are Sending Me Into The Army.." I Say. "What? Can They Do That?" He Asks. "I..I Guess So, I'm Leaving Tomorrow.." I Say.
He Hugs Me And I Hug Back And Cry In To His Chest. We Tell Our Friends And They Make A Going Away Party For Me. Gabbie Is Crying When I Get There And Hugged Me 20 Times.
They Said They Aren't Sure Why They Picked Me And I Told Them That I Don't Know Why Either. The Next Day I Wake Up Early With David And I Get Ready To Go And I Put My Hair In A Bun.
It Says I Have To Go To A Military Place Outside Of LA And Make Sure To Wear My Uniform. I Get My Uniform On And Put My Hat On. I Go To My Car And He Follows.
I Give Him A Kiss And Hug And I Sigh. "I Hope You Make It Back" He Says And I Nod. I Am About To Get In But I Hear Gabbie Yell Wait.
I Look In Time To See Her Running With Some Of My Other Friends. I Hug Them And Gabbie Is Last. We Give Each Other A Long Hug And I Sigh.
"Bye Guys" I Say. I Get In And Wave And They Wave Back. I Start The Car And I See Gabbie Crying And David Has Tears Going Down His Face.
I Drive Away And Go To The Military Base. I Park And I Go And Meet The Others. We Stand In Line And The Leader Comes And Says Some Things And We Get On A Plane.
The Plane Takes Off And I Find A Photo Of David, Gabbie And I In It. I Smile And Look At It Knowing It Could Be The Last Time We Ever See Each Other...
