As Richie left for the barrens he wiped away all the tears that were dripping down his face, keeping his head down to hide his red stained eyes, riding as quickly as his bike could go.
He really didn't know liking someone could hurt this much, Richie hated it, he was never one for feelings, he was the one to hate on people who felt things like love and pain.
These thoughts raced around his head until he reached the barrens. As soon as he reached the edge he dumped his bike and rushed over to the nearest rock. His eyes were dry from the crisp air that hit him while riding but as soon as he sat down a tear that he had been hiding broke free from his right eye, as soon as that painful tear was released more followed in large gushes.
Richie lifted his head from his hands when he hears the rustling of trees next to him, first thought being that it's only a small animal, until he sees bright red hair emerging from the green surroundings.
"Tozier, what happened to you back there?" Bev walked over to her friend as a look of concern rushes over her face.
The boy frantically tried to wipe the tears from his eyes as his best friend approached.
"Nothin', just didn't feel like hanging out with you Losers any longer," Richie tried to fake a smile but instead tears just started falling.
The red head walked over to sit next to her friend placing a hand on his upper back.
"Come on Rich, you can tell me," Richie knew that Bev wasn't going to drop this anytime soon, but he didn't exactly want to tell her that he had a major thing for Bird Boy.
"Does it matter what happened?" The tons of his voice made the young girl flinch and if he was honest it even scared him slightly.
"Look, I'm sorry, okay? It's just a touchy topic," Richie extended his arm to wrap it around his friend. He pulled her into his chest as she melted into the touch.
Richie looked down at Bev. She was so sweet to him and all the other boys.
He lent down to kiss her forehead. If anyone were to walk past and see them they would probably just think of them as another young couple but they were more than that. Bev loved all the boys with her heart, always have. Always will.
"I like Stan," as those words left his lips he didn't know if he should feel regret or relief.
