"YOU'RE THE LAST AIR BENDER."
The girl shrugged. "Actually, I'm Samantha, but I do have control over air. Not sure what that's all about, though."
I stood up, excited. "That means you're one of us!"
I started jumping up and down.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa." Samantha made a calm-down gesture. "First of all, I don't even know you. Second of all," she ticked off her fingers. "One of what?"
I stopped jumping. "The first one is easy. I'm McKenna. I'm a Fire Wielder. The second part, though, is hard to explain. Right, Natalie?"
I turned around, waiting to hear Natalie's response.
But Natalie didn't agree. Or respond, for that matter.
Because Natalie wasn't there.
