I sit alone as I stare into the endless sky,
Nothing more than a notebook and pen on hand,
The sun now shining bright,
Blinding my eyes,
Suddenly a shadow I see towering over me,
Blocking the sun's light,
I look up and you are the first thing I see...
Its a boy, one I've never seen,
He's looking at me,
Is he lost?
Has he confused me for someone else?
He bends down,
now at eye level,
He puts out his hand and tells me his name,
He's says he's been looking for me,
I know not why...
He's crazy I assume,
He takes my hand and pulls me to my feet,
He says "lets get going",
I ask "where?"
He says "Its a surprise...."
*I hate surprises* I say in my mind,
He looks to me as he says "you'll like this surprise!"
I stop in shock as I feel a blush,
Did he read my mind?
He truns and smiles at me as he beckons to me,
I feel I should follow,
Though I know not why,
We've come to the forest,
We've been walking for sometime,
Its getting late, I should leave.
He tells me to wait, Its almost time.
He did it again! I thought to myself,
Who is this person who knows me so well?
Though only moments ago - we just met!
We come off the dirt path and into a huge circle,
Surrounded by the Fall leaves of golden yellow,
There stood thousands of red roses!
Within the circles limits,
And within this lays a miraculous single stonehenge,
So big and very tall,
Thorned vines wrapped around it and covered with roses,
Flower petals sprinkled among the grassy platform,
He flips a switch and the entire place glows!
Small lights he'd placed all around,
Making this mysterious place look better than a palace.
I stand in awe as he walks over,
Standing in the center and under the stonehenge,
He reaches his hand out to me,
I follow in great disbelief...
Did he do all of this just for me?
I stand next to him wondering *why?*
He pulls out a golden stool,
Just my height, I sit...
He kneels on one knee as presents something before me,
A single silver rose,
"Its so pretty!" I exclaimed
He smiles as he say's "I know."
"Who are you really?
How is it you know these things about me?"
He says "I've known you for a very long time."
I blushed as I shot my gaze down,
"Sounds embarrassing..."
He laughs, he says "don't be. Its fine with me."
Also a letter he pulls out in an envelope laced in gold,
He places it with the silver rose as he hands them both over to me,
"These belong with you" he says as I take them in hand.
He stands to leave,
I wonder if I should ask him to wait...
He pauses as he said "Oh, and one more thing."
He tells me to close my eyes,
Its another surprise...
I feel him place something around my neck,
When I open my eyes he gives me a small mirror,
I take a look,
Its a Silver necklace that sparkles with its flawless design..
I stare in shock,
I say "Oh, this is too much!"
I turn to say I couldn't accept.
He was gone. Just as he had once appeared.
I look at the letter which I open in great care,
A small note that stated,
"You shouldn't give up on love,
Keep these gifts I've presented to you as the memories of this night shared with you.
Also, I believe this belongs to you."
I pull out a poem in my hand writing,
I recognized this - A short story I had wrote to describe the Love I once held close.
Because of a boy I'd once had a crush, he tore out my heart and ripped as such.
I'd banned myself from love from that moment on...
Underneath was a picture I'd once drew...
Of exactly the scene I've already described to you.
My eyes widen in more shock,
I had thrown this away... I remember that clearly.
Had he found this after I'd already abandoned it?
I gave of a sigh...
That sweet boy...
I wonder if I'd ever see his face again.
I went home for the night, keeping my new treasures at my side.
The next morning I awoke bright and early,
I wore my necklace, and the rest I kept in my bag.
I went back to the place I'd seen the past night.
It was empty, there was nothing there...
Had it been a Dream...
though it all felt so real...
I think back on my possessions and remembered it well,
This was no dream, though even if I were to tell someone - who'd believe me?
I suppose I'll write a story about this, one that'll last for eternity,
I'll write my own story...
That story of...
A Fall's Evening Dream.
