the fall

our eyes intertwined at just the right time,

on the beautiful autumn day, not expecting

anything special to happen.

your harmonious hazels danced with my

wary blues, and that's when we hit each other.

literally.

soft apologies quickly escaped my lips, and

your smile radiated forgiveness before you

said a word, causing me to blush harshly.

I escaped before a syllable could leave your mouth.

I thought that was the last time.

however, I was wrong.

it happened all over again the next week.

Walking briskly, I never saw you coming.

you bumped into me, caught my eyes,

and I was trapped again.

your hazels held me hostage. I was

mesmerized by the mess of brown curls,

and your smile returned.

"hey, my eyes are here, honey." you say.

I blush and look down, trying to hide behind

blonde locks. you laugh,

it's melody causing me to smile and be brave.

I look up, and the conversation

doesn't end. you convince me to come

with you. we become friends

and eventually turn into more.

with you, I've spent many days, months even,

wondering what would come to be.

your eyes still dance with mine, and I know

I have fallen.
