(AN: had to do it to 'em)

"Holy shit." I examined the crime scene and was met with blood almost everywhere. The man that we arrested was in for a hell of a hearing.

A member of the staff had come out of the backroom and saw the man beating up the victim with a bowling ball. That was all the information I had received thus far, but I knew I would receive more.

--

"Foggy?" I asked as I heard a familiar voice entering the precinct.

"Hey, Detective." He winked.

"Whatever would you be doing at my lovely precinct?"

"Taking on a case. Some Mr. Healy guy."

"Oh, that shit storm huh?" I scoffed.

"Shitstorm?" He questioned, oblivious to what he was about to do.

"Read the case file you have in your hands. It will explain a lot."

"I sure will." He smiled as I gestured him over to outside the interrogation room.

"Where's Murdock?" I asked, remembering last night's events. Last night's very strange events.

"Said he'd meet me here." He looked around for his friend. "Maybe he fell down a pothole." He shrugged.

"Mr. Nelson!" I laughed, ushering him into the room. "I'll send Murdock in when he gets here."

--

"Murdock." I took the 'blind', or so he says so, man aside. "Are you gonna explain anything about last night to me?"

"I'm sure I can enlighten you another time Detective."

"What did you tell Foggy about where you were? How did you explain the huge gash on the side of your head? I have so many questions that I need to be answered, Murdock. One of them is, are you really fucking blind? Because no blind man that I've ever met can do the things you do. Hell! I don't even know anyone at all who can do what you do. So tell me, Murdock. What is your little secret?" I was lying about that one. I did know people like him. Person... singular.

He looked unsettled by all the questions but answered one of them with ease. "Yes, I'm blind. But that isn't the only sense."

"So you have super hearing? You better fucking enlighten me or I will tell all the people who have a bounty on your head exactly who you are!"

"I'm sorry Ms. Moretti. I'll explain later, but right now I need to attend to my client."

"Good luck with that one!" I exclaimed as Murdock walked into the interrogation room.

What a prick. He's blind, is some sort of ninja lawyer, slightly attractive, and a huge prick. Why do I always pick the pricks?

--

"Congratulations on the trial Mr. Murdock. Unfortunate that they were hung, but I heard your speech was spectacular." I congratulated the man as he slammed me against the wall. I had snuck into his apartment, but he had obviously heard me.

"How do you know where I live?!" He demanded as I resisted the temptation to easily escape his hold.

"Okay, can we stop playing this cat and mouse game? It's getting old." I pushed him off me, tired of his menacing grip.

"What do you want?" He snarled, almost like a dog.

"To ask you some questions." I hopped off the higher level and landed with a soft thud on the couch. "Your apartment looks different on the inside..." I examined the terrain, not finding many similarities to when I was watching Page.

"Sorry?"

"Nothing..." I scoffed as I flung my feet onto the coffee table.

He jumped down as well, landing behind me. He then walked to the other side of the couch and sat himself down.

"So. First question. Are you really blind?" I asked, reaching for the red glasses that sat on his face.  He knocked my hand out of the way.

"Yes." He did not hesitate to answer my seemingly million dollar question.

"But really? How do you do..." I motioned to him, not knowing what to say about his 'moves'. "Do that."

"Skill."

"Oh fuck off! Just answer my question."

"Yes." He repeated.

"Oh my god! How are you all ninja? Do you have super hearing?" I exasperatedly sighed, his feet soon kicking mine off the coffee table. I was good at this whole lying thing. "Hey! Watch it!"

"That's my coffee table! And yes, sort of. I have 'heightened abilities'. And you're lucky I'm telling you this."

"Why are you telling me this again? Do you melt with my every command? Do I have some form of persuasion?"

"I am telling you this because I want to keep the people closest to me safe." He crossed his arms. "Why do you want to know so much?"

"Okay, I asked you one question. And what is the old saying, keep your friends close and your enemies closer?"

"I'm your enemy?"

"You're a vigilante, and I'm a cop. It's pretty self-explanatory."

"You seem a lot like a vigilante, the way you work, the fact that you helped me. How do you do what you do? Super strength?"

"Not exactly," I answered vaguely.

"Not exactly to what?"

I didn't answer that, rather following it up with another question of my own. "Who trained you?"

"What?" He seemed taken aback by this question, so obviously someone had trained him.

"You know what I'm saying. Who 'taught you everything you know'? Obviously, a blind boy has to be taught that sort of thing."

"A man." He answered simply, and I knew I wasn't getting anything else out of him.

"Tough topic?" A made a sarcastic sad face and spoke those words in a child's voice.

"Oh, go to hell!"

"Well, my least favorite catholic boy, I've already tried that. Let's just say that it didn't sit well." As I made a comeback, his face contorted in confusion. I smiled as he continued his state of obliviousness.

"OKAY! Well, that'll be all! Thank you for stopping by, but I think you should be going now."

"Woah!" I protested as Murdock pushed me off the couch and around to the front door.

"And if you decide to pay me a visit, knock on the door."

"Is that an invitation Sir?" I smiled as he opened the door out into the hallway of his complex.

"No." He shoved me through the doorway as I sighed in feigned disappointment. "But there is one more thing."

"And that is?" I crossed my arms, now situated across from the 'not so blind' man.

"Don't tell Foggy."

"You haven't told him?" I scoffed, quickly walking away. "Your secret may or may not be safe with me Murdock!" I smiled with slight menace as I left the man standing in the doorway, nervous as too how I would go about his request.

I heard him whisper a few quick profanities as I walked away. I turned back to see him flipping me off.

"I saw that!"

"You were supposed to."
