"Are you sure there's a mutant out here?" Erik grumbled.

"Positive, although the telepathic signal I'm reading is weak..." Charles replied.

They had been looking for mutants all week to raise an army against Shaw's forces and stop him from starting World War III. So far they had found five others who were mutants, Hank, Angel, Alex, Sean, and Charles' childhood friend Raven, who he thought of as a sister. Now the were after another mutant but what concerned Charles most was the weak reading he had received, it got stronger as they neared the girls location but it was still almost impossible to read.

"There, in that alley." Charles nodded and led them into a dark side street behind a store.

"That's the mutant? She looks half dead." Erik scoffed.

"Just help me get her back to the car... and try not to startle her."

They picked up the girl and carried her back to the car, Charles got an even more concerned look on his face, and the girl hadn't even stirred once as they moved her and he noticed she felt deathly cold. They drove back to Division X and Erik carried the girl inside, when they got into the light filled building Charles could tell she was more like a teenager than a girl, she was just so thin he hadn't noticed before.

"Take her to the medical wing. I'll inform the others about their new teammate." Charles told him friend.

"Why bother if she might not make it?" Erik replied but listened and walked off before Charles could answer.

Charles watched him walk off and mentally sighed, Erik always had to make things into an argument. He walked into the room where the others were sitting and they look up at him expectantly.

"Do you have the new mutant?" Raven asked.

"Yes, she's in the medical wing." Charles told them. "She isn't in very good condition and Erik doesn't think she will make it."

"What do you mean?" Hank asked.

"She is very underweight and hasn't responded to us at all."

"Are you sure she isn't dead already?" Alex laughed.

            "Just follow me."

They groaned but got up from their seats and followed him to the medical wing, Erik looked up at them when they went into the room and they saw the pale brown haired girl hooked up to life support.

            "How is she?" Charles asked.

"Her temperature spiked... the doctors said she should already be dead." Erik replied.

"Well I don't think overheating will kill this one." Charles smirked. "Although it does seem to be hurting as well as helping her."

"Could you go into her mind to wake her up?" Sean suggested.

"Yes but it could also scare her and make her attack us."

"Well then maybe we should just leave and let her rest." Erik grumbled.

"Fine I'll stay here to make sure she's stable." Charles agreed as they left to their rooms.
