Trust or don't trust?|Prologue

'This is her prize for saving you and your kind?!'

Michelle's POV

"In this town, we need savior to protect us and teach us how to be a fighter and be a Monster Hunter. Being a Monster Hunter is not easy to our kinds and being strong doesn't make us a Monster Hunter. Being brave, confident, smart, humble and strong... that makes us a Monster Hunter. What do Monster Hunter need? Of course the trust of the people is what they need. Let's make a toast for them! For the Monster Hunters!" My young friend, Leo said. I just laughed at him because it's his speech for the upcoming event for our town. He memorized it all day and that's the result. He missed some important things. Julia stopped writing and slammed the pen beside the book in front of her. She looked at Leo and I think she notice the mistake he did.

"Leo, the event is 12 days away. Don't push yourself. You have the time that you need and you missed the reason why do Monster Hunter exist. Some of our people might got confused and will starting asking is it Monster Hunter just for showing off? Nope, I don't want to get some bad words and throwing some stuffs." Julia said. She is my friend. She is there for me since we are like babies. We grown up together and like family. She is sitting in her chair comfortably.

"Julia's right. Calm down. You won't mess that up so take it easy my friend." I said while standing up and patted him in the shoulder. I smiled at him when I saw he frown and pout a little bit because he is memorizing it over and over all day but he still kept forgetting something in his speech.

"I don't want to embarrass us. Our King might get disappointed with me, with us." Leo said while getting his drink on the table beside him.

"Our King will never get disappointed with you or us. He knows that everyone will get nervous in front of his people." I sadly smiled at him and looked at Julia, she is doing the same. They highly doubt that because the King is always strict of what we do but I did take his attitude seriously. I continued what I am doing.

I sat down in my chair and looking for some newspaper. Missing people. We are currently in our place where we talk about our plans and all. Living as a Monster Hunter is rough and tough. Risking your life just to protect the people whose believing in us or trusting us.

Monster Hunter started with me. I was the first Monster Hunter to fight and killed a monster. It's a blood sucking creature or also known as vampire. They called themselves vampire which is I don't even know where that came from.

I am Michelle, Lauren Michelle but I prefer to be called as Michelle. No one knew about the Lauren in my name. The first Monster Hunter and still a Hunter with my two friends, Leo and Julia. Leo is a blond young man with blue eyes and Julia is a short lady but she is like a rose that you will love her beauty. And I, have a green eyes and raven hair.

I am still looking for some missing people. It's increasing and we are finding some things why some people are missing.

"Michelle, our King is looking for you" I looked at Julia and I can see that she is worrying about that.

"Don't give me that look." I stood up "He just need something and just continue what you are doing. We still need to find some things why there's still people missing" I lied. I know they already know what the King's personality is but I am trying my best for them to remove the fear when the Kind needs them. For now, I am the only hunter that can see and talk to him. I unlocked the door and straight to the King's room in the castle.

I knocked "Who is it?" His monarch said.

"Michelle, your highness" I simply said.
